    Hi Guys/Girls,

Do any of you use Turlte Beach Headsets or similar headsets, i hear (pun not intended) that they are better than the usual 5.1 surround sound and have the voice chat incorparated in the headset too.

    Thoughts/Comments/advice more than welcome

    cheers

I use the X4s and they are very good. You reall appreciate the 5.1 in games like Dead Space and MW2 online. And the mic is good but I never get the chance to use it. But when I have it lowers the sound when someone is speaking/magnifies their voice which is good.

I have the X41s and I use them every day. The sound quality is very good for my inexpert ears and the wireless feature is brilliant.

You'll need rechargeable batteries for both of them.

I am right in thinking they don't do a wireless PS3 set, yes?

I have the new X11's which Gamestation are currently doing for 50. Not sure if they are true 5.1 as there are more expensive ones but they sound pretty good to me. Yep, they also incorporate live chat and I have to say the quality of the live chat is leagues ahead of the official 360 headset.

I'm pretty happy with them but beware they are a tad cabletastic...think you can get wireless for a few more dollars though.

Looks like these are wired from the machine - how much cable do you get from the usb connection to the headphones?

i got the x1s (i think the x11 are just a newer version) and the cable is really long - probably about 2-3 metres. I cant imagine anyone would have issues with them not being long enough. Except those with palatial abodes!

Turtle Beach headsets are a great choice, the X41 7.1 surround sound headset has the best audio quality, hands down. Great bass boost and it has all the features the other headsets do not, like mic playback and chat boost. You can't go wrong http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/efx41/featuressummary.aspx

I have a pair of the X1's (Stereo/wired) and I think there great. To be hoenst now, I prefer to wear them whenever I play rather than when my girlfriends alseep next to me etc.

The only comments I would make is that they can make your ears very warm and sweaty over time, though the newer models (X11 & X41) apparently do allow your ears to breathe more.

The mic seems to work fine, the only issues i've had is that get an annoying buzzing noise though the headset when you have a pad charging at the same time via your xbox. Also i've had comments that my voice isn't quite as clear, sounding rather deeper, but not to the point where people can't understand what i'm saying.

Picked up a set of x12s on Friday so I wouldn't drive the mrs crazy with f1 2011. Loving them so far, easy to setup but just as importantly the sound is great, picking up little sounds I couldn't notice through the tv, running over marbles, drs clunk, etc.

Would Recommend to any one who wants to play loud/late but not disturb anyone.

Almost bought a pair recently but decided against in the end. I did have a pair of cheapish surround sound cans a while ago, the make escapes me, but they were fucking useless.

Pretty much my experience. Don't actually use them that much for gaming, more for films & tv late at night, but same applies.

Strongly advise you get 4 decent rechargable AAA batteries though, eats them like crazy.

Re: wired versus wireless, assuming you're not an audiophile, go wireless. I had some wired ones, hardly ever used them due to the faff involved.

I'm still waiting for the Warhead 7.1's to be released. Although the AX360's are still doing me proud. I just want the new shiny.

I picked up the DX11 at the Expo - 65 with the surround sound set boxed in, which was a pretty good deal IMO (apparently the headset normally costs 65 alone, with another 40 for the surround sound converter, and the wireless version would have been 170). Looking forward to treating my ears with it later tonight.

I also jumped on that at the expo. Cheapest I could find that bundle online was 105 squids from amazon.

My Turtle Beach X11 360 headset has "spontaneously" snapped while sat on the shelf today (my daughter was at nursery, which narrows it down a lot). I need to replace them - which are the good ones these days?

    I totally called it.
