It's worse than the US media who were all over him saying "Tiger Woods you suck, god damn it" yesterday :)

    Westwood bottled that. Game over.

He did it last year at the British open too, iirc. Was leading the field with three holes left and went bogey, double bogey, bogey, and lost to Stuart Cink.

Well done to Phil Mickleson, no bogeys on his final round and the 2nd shot at the 13th was out of this world.

Westwood didnt bottle it.....I thought he was solid throughout.

Mickey just got more birdies...surprisingly :)

I passed out before the end but sounds to me like Westwood was solid but Mickleson blew him away. I didn't think he could keep making those saves but evidently he did! Harsh to say he bottled it from what I can gather

Westwood did well to hold his round together when it was clear from the front 9 that he was going to struggle to shoot sub-70. The one who really bottled it was Choi - best player by a mile yesterday until he took the co-lead at 12, but then collapsed. Still, 70 for me from Phil :)

Westwood did nothing wrong. A couple of missed puts (particularly thinking about 15), but phils iron shots on the back 9 were out of this world.

Mickelson just had another gear to go to, Westwood didn't. After some superlative golf over the weekend, it felt a bit of an anti-climax for me, but I don't begrudge Mickelson anything.
Woods was strange, that 3 putt from 5 feet was just bizarre, I couldn't believe it.

Good tournament though and very much looking forward to the Open now.

I love The Masters. Sky have joint rights and are broadcasting in 3D. Would love to see just how steep some of these approaches really are. Need to have a looksy and see where my money is going...

Have the BBC still got their usual amount of coverage or have Sky pinched some? I can't see much scheduled coverage for Thursday or Friday.

I have SkySports, but they can still get fucked when it comes to The Masters quite frankly.

Think Sky have sole rights for Thurs/Fri and then joint BBC for the last 2 rounds. Was like this last year apparently but I cannae remember

Anyway, my moneyt's on the Mickmeister.

Anyone know the best odds I can get? I'd imagine he's probably a favourite, even with his dodgy recent form.
  • Deleted user 6 April 2011 10:49:46
Tiger Woods is still official favourite, bizarrely.

    Shitsticks, he's the absolute favourite.

    13/2...rubbish.

As an outside bet, I'm going to go with Bubba Watson. Mainly because he has a great name, but also from what I can remember he can hit the ball about 700yds off the tee.

8s at Bill Hill but yeah. Always have a cheeky e/w on Luke Donald, will probably back Westwood too, purely because I'm desperate for him to win it.

Donald and Westwood for me too but can't see anyone but Mickelson after his performance at Houston last week.

It will never get better than my 150/1 win with Angel Cabrera in 2009 but i've had a fiver on him again at 125/1 in the hope that lightning will strike twice.

Heh, I did that with Mark O'Meara all those years ago. 66/1 I think, nice 330 at a time when I was exceptionally poor.
  • Deleted user 6 April 2011 22:55:35
TW plummeted to 12-1 earlier. Phil now favourite, unsuprisingly.

So a day after I lump on Donald at 30s, he wins the Par 3 round. And no winner of the Par 3 has ever won the Green Jacket. Fuckers.

I've spread my money around, what with such a large field:

To win: Lee Westwood, Tiger Woods, Anthony Kim, Bubba Watson, Martin Kaymer, Phil Mickelson

To lead after first round: Robert Karlsson or either of the Molinari's

    Top amateur: Jin Jeong.

Can't wait for tonight, it's like Christmas! \o/

Yep, hopefully the missus does exactly what she has done the last few nights and crashes out at about 9pm, leaving me a clear run for a few hours
