Sounds like MM is moving away from LBP to do something new. Good news in my opinion, as much as I love LBP I would really want to see what else they can do.
Plus, I think to satisfy me the next LBP would have to be a proper 3D enviroment editor and I can't see that happening or having much of an appeal to people. :)

Next LBP for me would need to have better animation features, such as pose-able characters with key-framing.

Nice. Especially those movement detection tools should come in handy.

(Thought this was still under NDA. Oh, well... :))

There are three Toy Story costume packs, so it stands a good chance of cropping up in one of the other two.

So I'm finally getting into the first game after having it for over a year and a half, and I have a question - is there any point in buying any of the content packs (specifically the ones that added significant things, like the Metal Gear Solid and PotC packs), if I'm going to buy LBP 2 soon? That is to say, I'm assuming the significance of the added things like water is greatly reduced since I'd imagine LPB 2 has them right from the off?

You can still play the MGS & Pirates of the Caribbean packs in LBP2, and they're well worth it TBH

Been working on and off on this one level for a few month now. It's slowly starting to take shape.
Here is an early version of the palace the level will be set in. That was a few weeks ago. Today the central palace looks like this.
Earlier in the level you come to a little courtyard. Four month ago that looked like this. Since then I've made a few changes though. Most of them after the Move Pack was released (which is excellent by the way), so now that same court looks like this.

I made - or rather remade - another level. Ancient Hoops is a basketball level of sorts. Essentially it's the same as my LBP1 level SlamBall, but a bit faster and at least in my opinion more fun.
And prettier, but that's a given seeing as I learned a lot in the 2 years since I first published it and LBP2 allows you to make prettier levels anyway.

    This thread is dead... :)

Had the urge to create a level this weekend, so I built a little arena shooter -> http://lbp.me/v/8ytwhj

You can also play some of my older levels if you like:

Isfahan for example. It's a gallery level more than a plat former though.

Or any of my other levels.

I'll never do creating. Just don't have the time. It'll likely be like LBP1 where I play through the "campaign" and then just try a few of the better user created levels.

Holy carp, that's amazing! They've even include costumes of the two old haughty characters (Statlery and Waldorf, according to the renders labeling!) that just sit back laughing together - and Animal with his band. :)

A commenter on Youtube is saying tune comes with the pack, as MM got a live band together to record it anew for the game.

The Incredibles Costumes and level kit are being removed next week.

Just so that you know, if you want them.

    No reason was given.
Although it could be an effort to drum up cash in order to pay Syrok's wages :)
