Want to start SMT IV but need to finish Overclocked first. I've only tried the 7th day Babel fight once but I'm definitely going to have to think up a new strategy as I was doing an embarassingly low amount of damage to her.

I can't believe we're going to end up with Etrian Odyssey IV, Soul Hackers and SMTIV all within a few months of each other, craziness.

I've been enjoying Project X Zone recently. It's a nice game to chill out to, as it's been pretty light on strategy so far, mostly requiring just positioning my units in a good place, then pummelling the enemies. I like the battle system though, even if it is rather repetitive, and the fights look bonkers.

I was trying to do one chapter each evening, but I've given up that idea now that the battles have got so long. Some battles have taken me about 2 hours. The one I'm currently doing had 52 units at one point (total of my units and enemies), each of which had to take a turn. I'm not even halfway through the game yet! I'm just so glad you can quicksave at any time.

Has anyone here managed to finish the game?

@chub Nowhere near finishing it. I'm on chapter 13 and a quick googling says there's around 40 chapters and new game plus!

Same with me on the battles, have to spread one battle over two evenings but then I like to get all the chests, break destructibles, wipe out all enemies (unless I'm losing badly and have to go for the objective, which is rare).

Oh my gawd. Xseed are localising Senran Kagura Burst. No word on a European release yet, of course.

If you don't know what Senran Kagura Burst is, have a link to the English trailer. But proceed with caution, for once seen it cannot be unseen.

    /blows dust off thread

Going to snatch the 3DS back off the wife and kids tonight. Hardly touched it of late (blame their love of AC) and all I can think of is the months that could be swallowed up for me with barely played copies of Monster Hunter, Fire Emblem and Etrian Odyssey...

I very nearly went for Harvest Moon on the Wii U Virtual Console last week. I'm not sure this has me sold though. At least not whilst i'm still on Animal Crossing.

Still need to start Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing and Luigi's Mansion 2! I think it's because I find the idea of starting big games quite daunting, feels like I'll be tied down to them for weeks. So I just stick with short-ish games.

I did play Might Switch Force recently, and that's excellent. Just the last few levels left to perfect.

I'll be picking that up- I like a bit of swords and monster-killing to break up the farming :-)

    @Kay

I only finished Fire Emblem last week as I've been chipping away at it since launch. At least you know, with 25-odd main maps, roughly how far you are along in a FE game, and the maps aren't that big either.

Speaking of big games, I went for a concerted push on FE to get to the end to make time for Etrian Odyssey. Now that is a timesink- 13 hours so far and I haven't been in the second main dungeon yet!

I'm halfway through my second playthroughs of fe but got side tracked by dkcr then monster hunter then animal crossing then I or project x zone which I got about 3/4 of the way through and got bored. Now it is just sitting on my bedside table waiting for Pokemon to arrive (which I can't wait for btw)

I should go back to them at some point just keep getting side tracked by shiny

Also anyone else getting Pokemon??? I. Picked y cos the dark flying Pokemon looked alot better, can't decide between charmander or squirtle now, when I found out about the originals I was excited about getting my charizard again but blastoise has been giving me doubts lol

@Grax your last paragraph means nothing to me as a Pokemon virgin but I'm tempted; if only to say I've played a Pokemon game before I turn 40 ;-)

@Murbal haha I'm 28 and I still get excited by every Pokemon game, it is the series I am most hooked on picking up at least one copy of every generation. When I talk to my missus about it I can see her mentally packing her bags lol

Ah, but if you're 28, you would have been, what, 12 when the first games came out? Target market! :-)

I'm 34 and have never played a pokemon game, as the first releases, schoolyard hype and the cartoon passed me by. It's the fact that even adults still play them for the RPG mechanics that makes me think I might pick one up one day. I think that's the same for a lot of the older Pokemon fanbase- you were either the right age to get into the craze as a kid, and so the games appear to be stalwart rpgs you've grown up with, or were a few years older, saw it as kids stuff, and are still wondering what it is that gives it such longevity with the now-adult fanbase!

I suppose it's the same when kids look at retro 80s cartoons like Thundercats or Transformers and wonder why grown men have autobot tee-shirts.

I need to finish the previous 2 pokemon games before moving onto to x or y. I haven't played much 3ds or wii u in the last few weeks as I've been concentrating on other hobbies. As autumn moves into winter I should be able to focus more on getting through this year's big releases.

Also looking forward to the new harvest moon, which is currently scheduled for a late September release. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets delayed again.

I remember playing the first Pokemon (I was around 16 at the time) and was surprised at how much depth it had. Like most people I had just dismissed it as a kiddy fad (my younger brother and his friends were hooked on it). In fact I'm pretty sure the TV show and merchandise were popular in the UK before the game actually came out here.

The GBA version is the one I actually played properly. Around 120hrs worth... I think after that I was burnt out on the series so haven't bothered with any of the sequels.
