I've just been signed out of PSN and cannot sign back in on my main account ("An error has occured, you have been signed out of the playstation network"). I get the same error every time yet I can sign in under alternate accounts.

Has this happened to anyone? I'm a little worried my account might have been hacked.

Internet connection is fine and I can sign in under other accounts. Just not on my own one. Very strange.

Don't think it's a hack then, sounds like a glitch...

I just signed in and out, and it's not loading up your details properly - there's no avatar, comment or last sign in time. But when I click on you your trophies etc. come up fine. Incidentally it's doing the same for Calv.

Yeah, looks like a mass glitch of some sort. Hopefully it'll sort itself.

Anyone else struggling to sign into their accounts? I keep getting an error message (8001050F).
  • Deleted user 1 March 2010 00:34:20
Yeha, some sort of "PSN meltdown". Being discussed in the Heavy Rain thread as well.
  • Deleted user 1 March 2010 00:35:48
Just so I'm clear, if PSN network is down then none of your games which have trophys will work unless you disconnect yourself from the internet?

Yeah can't sign in either. Fault at Sony's end. Damned frustrating though!

I too am getting the 8001050F error. Oddly, I can still log in to my PSN id on the PSN website just not from the PS3

It is and it isn't. The Heavy rain freezing issues are well documented on the internets. Quite a few people are having the problem and it has been recognised by the devs who are working on a patch apparently. So Heavy Rain IS bugged, as is the PSN at the moment!

I disconnected my ethernet cable and have been playing Heavy Rain all day with no problems. (To avoid patch)

Which leads me to believe that it's entirely a PSN problem.

it makes me laugh though at people saying "OMG we can;t even play single player games". Just disconnect your router and it's fine.

Just read this at a PS3 blog:

"8001050F, hardware problem, everything works fine, but you can't connect to PSN network or upgrade firmware, need to send to Sony for repair."

"Hey 'Zilph'. Yes, '8001050F' is a nasty one - best avoided!

Anyone else had this error code? if so, give Sony a call, they'll be able to advise, typically they'll ask you to restore your PS3 ... gulp and if that doesn't work you better hope your Playstation 3 is still under warranty."

More noise here yahoo answers noise.

For the record I was playing NFS Shift. Went to look at the trophy info and it failed to update. Rebooted and unable to connect to PSN. Most games load and play fine (not tried Bioshock2, hope to f*** that still works).

    Leap year calendar problem?
  • Deleted user 1 March 2010 01:28:56
Apparently those who can't access single player games offline had already got the error.

But people like me who don't have their ethernet cables connected are fine.

So if you haven;t turned your PS3 on yet today. UNPLUG YOUR ROUTER before switching it on. You will be fine until it gets sorted.

But I seem to be able to play games fine. Just had a go on the Yakuza 3 demo, played some Ratchet and Clank crack in time and also some Valkyria Chronicles. Its just Heavy Rain won't sync properly so won't load and can't sign in to PSN. So its clearly a PSN problem as well as the fact that Heavy Rain is bugged (Because it froze on me earlier on, which has happened to others too)

Clearly Sony fiddling with their servers or somesuch tomfoolery, as its affecting lots of people all over the world it seems.
