I am getting worried that the big boys in the SP campaign are only the rank 3s on multiplayer... Some nasty entities at the top of the list, methinks.

Still, nothing that an EG team couldn't handle! ;-0

I reckon that I'll be getting online soon. Just waiting on my LAN adapter to avoid wireless lag.

I've just finished the 2* offline quests. Is it too soon to jump online? Will I get mullered?

    Anyway, Name: fillip ID:48W32N

Nah, get online as soon as you can, as you need to build your hunter rank and it takes a little while.

If you've taken out the 2* offline quests, you're more than qualified. Also, taking monsters down as a team is quicker, so you'll find yourself getting the armour/weapon parts you need much easier.

Single player is useful though- I'm on the last few 5* quests, and keep popping back to make sure my farm is mass-producing honey and the fishing fleet is out working. I'm like the village CEO.

You can do the 1* online collection quests solo imo. And the killing of minion monsters - jaggi and ludroth.
It's when the quest has you going after G Jaggi, R Ludroth and 'Peco that you will want some help.

Not as nice as I used to be

Just got the capture quest on 2* to go and then I will venture online. Need to give myself some time on this one though as I don't know how to use traps yet :)

It's worth heading online just to check the traders- sometimes they have different stuff that's harder to find offline and vice versa.

Good luck with the traps, just keep experimenting, that's what I did.

    Hey Ming,

What did you think of your first team hunts then?

    Nice work Cid, as usual!

    Monster Hunter Monday !!!

We'll be having our regular EG Monster Hunter Monday get together this evening - around 8 (some are even on now).

All are welcome. We usually hang around the Mercenary server gate 25. I also strongly encourage those who haven't played online yet to give it a go. Once MH codes are exchanged, it's quite a painless online wii experience.

Please refer to page one of this forum for MH codes.

How do you register friends for mic chat?

As soon as you register a friend, and provided you both have wii speak, you'll be able to chat straight away.

I do tend to leave my wiispeak off these days as it means I can listen to music whilst playing, and it alienates the wife less. I also find it easier to communicate with a keyboard.

Thanks, we have now managed to connect but it is very muffled. My friend and I could barely hear each other. It was working fine on the Wii Speak Channel?

We turned the game sound down and the tv sound up but all we got was muffled voices. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

1Dgaf's (Hatchet on MH) the person to ask. He's done quite a lot of experimenting with Wiispeak on Monster Hunter. He's even posted some of our sessions on Youtube.

The only advice I can offer is to try using headphones. It makes hearing the other person so much easier.

Most useful bit is in the video description:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NJ9WewF5Sk

I've yet to use headphones, but if both parties are using them (and in quiet rooms) it should cut down on a lot of the feedback.

I watched the video but it did not really help. The sound quality of the other people was far better than my friends. I could only hear crackling when he spoke.

Go through the list in the description and see which bits your friend has done. Remember that both people have to set the Wii Speak up properly, not just one of them.

I want in on the fun as well:

    Ingame-name: Iofia
    ID: WNHVWU

Do you have to meet people online to add their ID's to your friend roster?

Yes. If you meet in the city, then it's simple to swap IDs.

I can't just send them a message with "Friend request" turned on?

Erm, yeah. But if you're both in the same city at the time you can just walk up to them to send the message, rather than typing in the ID no.
Plus you both have to be online for the message to send.

The ID is only really used to search for players.
