It's been posted so now the wait begins.
I might start a poll on how many pubes will be in the manual when it's delivered.

I have seen Xenoblade and Last Story twice in the shops and both times they were just placeholders on the shelves and they had no stock. These games were MIA down south :(

There are about 3 unique monsters in the game that are over level 100

I only ever killed one of them, Final Marcus. I not sure I ever even found the others.

210 hours on my game clock at completion (and I did pretty much everything in the game).

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

One was on the beach, another in the swamps, two in the snow area (including the 120lv dragon, which was atop the mountain, I believe).. There might have been a couple of others.

Been a year now since I finished it, and I would rather like to try the new game+, but I don't have the time (and my backlog is frightful enough as is). Still, I can't watch Doctor Who's new companion without expecting the rest of the Xenoblade cast to show up.

How beneficial is rebuilding Colony 6?

I'm at level 2 on everything currently, level 3 on Commerce.

Well, it is a superb part of the game building it up.

I think we could argue the benefits of videogaming in general from now until the end of time!

I did the main story quest - never killed any unique monsters, and I didn't level up Colony 6 that much - basically if I had the stuff, or most of it and knew where to find it, then I did the upgrades, but I didn't do any grinding for the colony 6 stuff.

It has been over a year now since I last turned on the Wii. I think this is still in the disc drive.

I might try and return to it once I finish Halo 4. Although I am also half way through TitS on the PSP / Vita which is also excellent. I have far to many JRPGs in various states of completion spread across multiple devices. (Although those 2 seem a cut above the others).

This turned up on Friday so i gave it a go on Saturday for a bit then woke up early on Sunday because i couldn't sleep and ended up dominating the TV for about 10 hours :)

    Yeah. The game's not bad.

Where are you up to? When you first walk out onto the Gaur Plains on Bionis Leg, it is quite something isn't it. Truly memorable gaming moment IMO. You start to realise how good this is game is going to be.

Loaded it for the first time since Skyrim came out (sorry!) yesterday. Took me a few minutes to get to grips with the fighting system again, but fine now. Levelled up a bit to get the boss I had stopped at, took me a few goes. I'm at Level 50, on the snowy bit.

I can't remember, is there a way to pick certain quests so they are signposted for you? Like if I'm trying to find a certain beasty, is it just a case of wandering around the area till you find it?

I'm going to have to read up on affinity links, there's parts of the game I don't think I'm using most effectively.

@Youthist I'm quite near the start at Bionis' Knee going to Colony 6 but i've gone back to the start place to level up a bit with some quests.

I died a fair few times from being unprepared and not understanding the niceties of the particular battle system they were showing me. Bloody hell there's a lot to the battle systems!

The first Face-Mechon in Colony 9 spanked me something terrible until i got a grip with the chain-attack mechanisms and i've just done the mini-boss fight where they introduce the 'advance warning' mechanism 0_o

    My brain hurts.

Yeah there is a LOT you can get done before even reaching Colony 6. I would spend time trying to take care of every open quest that you can before going to Colony 6 to get your EXP up.

Battling is complex at first yep. Soon settles down, and you start to experiment with each character and how they play with the other characters in the battles to chain the attacks up. I spent a long time working on character affinity...

I like the fact that there doesn't seem to be a death penalty. It encourages me to be brave rather than be a cautious pussy. One of the boss fights last night threatened to be a bit overwhelming but it was actually neat once i manned-up and went for it :)

After hunting for months this appeared in game preowned today for 14.99 :) not sure when I'll get round to playing it but looking forward to it :) is it easily playable without a classic controller?

I find it's perfectly playable with the wiimote and nunchuck but some have said that the classic controller makes it easier to move the camera AND the player at the same time. It is a bit clumsy to press C when you want to move the camera using nunchuck but meh, not a big issue as far as i'm concerned.

tldr; You'll be fine with Wiimote & Nunchuck.

I disagree with Jellyhead and found it awful with the wiimote.

On the plus side though you can get a pro controller for 4.50 on amazon that does the job.

If you're used to fiddling with cameras in other 3rd person games, you'll definitely prefer using the classic controller. However, the camera follows the character well enough that it isn't necessary. I played extensively with both options and had no troubles. I did prefer the classic controller though.

5 hours into this now and I'm quite impressed with the combat system. Usually hate combat in jrpgs but this is actually quite fun. And every 45 minutes they seem to introduce new mechanics . It's all real time with a focus on positions and timing.

    Really impressed so far
