I remember having one. Drew the maze as I went along so I wouldn't get lost but I ended up dying anyway.

Registered 7 years agoI remember it being quite easy to die in these, so I always ended up cheating. Most were poorly written, but I'm sure there are quite a few gems as well? -

Registered 7 years agoNever could beat Starship Traveller. Had loads of them a one point (including the feudal Japan one). Bought the box set of Deathtrap Dungeon for a pal a couple of years ago.
Happy, simpler times.

I've only just seen that CYOA was a franchise in of itself!

Registered 5 years agoAhhh Deathtrap Dungeon was the best of the FF series (the PS2 game was crap) Warlock Of Firetop Mountain, Citidal Of Chaos etc etc, went a bit crap at the end and I never got on with the Sci-Fi ones.
They did an epic four parter but cannot remember what it was called, just remember having to cheat at the end of book 2 as I didn't have a clue how to open the city gate -

Registered 4 years agoused to have tons. there was an AMAZING ninja one, called avenger or something like that with a stunning painted ninja dude on the front ready to bust some heads - from the looks of it, it was supposed to be a series.
had a quick search for it online, don't seem to be able to find it. argh. -

Registered 10 years agoThe Legend of Lone Wolf by Joe Dever.
I thank you, Mr Dever, for getting me into fantasy books long before people started to jizz all over Lord of the Rings, and for making me see how shit modern fantasy is.
Balls.
