The latest update for TV Guide has now added an option to watch some channels. Pretty good.

Playing the humble Bundle games. Only 2 so far

Time Surfer - cross between Tiny Wings and Jet Pack joyride. Good, but not quite as good as either of those.
Punch Quest - simple 2 button brawler/platformer. Oddly uses a portrait screen. Didn't do anything for me.

I dived straight into Star Command. It's extremely well set up, with some wonderful touches that are absolutely what I want in a space game, but then you encounter the dull, slow, tedious space combat, and the slow, tedious, dull hand-to-hand combat, and... nope, the gameplay lets it all down. Not the killer Space game I wanted on Android. Not a patch on FTL (why isn't that on Android?!).

If you want to crew your spaceships and upgrade their hardware on a madcap epic space journey on your Android device, a DS emulator and Infinite Space is still your best bet, IMO.

FTL on mobile would be a godsend. That or escape velocity.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Had a quick go with Bloons. Basically a tower defence game where you have to blow up waves of balloons instead of monsters, aliens or tanks. Seems ok.

Dosbox now works with Diablo and Fallout 2. Fallout 2 works fine on my Nexus, bit slow with the restored content mod.

I didn't like Star Command, seemed to promise a lot more then was actually in the game.

that's exactly my problem with it. fat too slow waiting for bars to fill so you can chisel away at their shields/hull. fed up with it already.

time surfer is a rip off of tiny wings and is shit to play.

Ravensword is dull as fuck, it didn't keep my attention past the 2 minute mark.

Already got carmageddon when it was on the free release and i've cleared that.

Bloons is the only thing i've liked really and that's cos my son loves it and we play it together.

a Nexus a day keeps the apple away

Massively disappointed with star command. Ridiculously short.

I'd been waiting for a sale on Knights of Pen & Paper +1 on Steam for a while, but when it was finally discounted a week or two back, my last-minute research suggested that Android would be the better platform for it. As it's 50% off today (99p?), I've just bought it.

Not a personal recommendation, mind you, but it's reviewed pretty well and looks like a good phone game.

I hit something of a brick wall with KoP&P a couple of hours into it.

Not as nice as I used to be

    Psn - Emperorzaphod
    Steam - Emperorzaphod
    Wii U - sirzapalot

@TheSaint TT not reviewing well - sounds laggy on Nexus 7 and naturally not compatible with my phone.

Using Aviate - looks very nice, but it's very opaque in what it's doing. It has one option (light or dark theme) so you can't train it not to decide you're in the curry shop down the road when you're not.

    Very nice idea.
Cheers for this Tonk, just got my beta code today. Some really nice themes, all one-clickable.

Can anyone recommend a volume increase app that works? I've tried various free trials, but none have made any difference. It's for my Nexus 7. I'll gladly pay a few quid for one that works.

The sequel to kingdom rush is now out on android. Kingdom rush is yet another tower defence game but don't let that out you off.

@Triggerhappytel I use speaker boost and it makes a noticeable difference on my tablet (not a Nexus). That said some things are still quieter than I'd like so it's not a perfect solution.

I have a themer beta code but it's incompatible with my phone (One mini).

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycolorscreen.themer&hl=en_GB

Anyone have a device that runs it that fancies a look?

I'm currently playing GTA Vice City 10th Anniversary. Before you jump at me, my phone has physical buttons (Xperia Play) so it IS manageable. Must have replayed this several times on the PS2/PC, so it's kind of weird how small everything is on a 4-inch screen. Took me a while to get used to it. But now I'm back rollin' in the 80-ties, baby!

Really?! Works on my S4 Mini.

Themer is a pretty good launcher, easy to set up and the GTAV theme is a lot of fun, if that's your thing.

I only asked for a code late last week, so they are coming through quickly (btw SG4 running 4.2.2)

But I prefer Aviate (another app requiring a code to test the beta...) which very easily organises your apps into groups, with the home screen adapting to what you are doing, where you are, etc not as intrusive as that sounds, very subtle stuff - worth a look, and it's light!

And apparently Kit Kat will do similar, organise stuff for you, er, according to the associate editor of Engadget, Matt Brian @m4tt on Twitter.

And just to say, I couldn't get it to work, kept getting "failed to upload" message, until I realised that, within the app, you need to login (Facebook or Google +) to get the themes.

But I'm a bear with a small brain...
