Registered 10 years agoProbably every dog man and his dog knows this, but just in case anyone missed it, Dead Trigger supports a PS3 pad by default (if you use the usb cable) and can be played just like a console fps.Controls can be modified if required. It certainly makes the whole game a lot more playable. -

Registered 2 years agoThe multiplayer version of Shadowgun is also on the Play store for tegra devices. Shadowgun: Dead zones, i think it's called. Not a bad game -
Well I didn't know that dark trooper! Thanks, I'll test it out when I get a chance.

Registered 11 years agoI've downloaded Townsmen and played through the first two 'missions'.
It's a free real-time resource building strategy game. A bit like Stronghold imo. but without any castle or combat elements.
It's also ad-free (so far) despite being free. I think they try to make their money via micro transactions, but not in quite the same in your face way as Dead Trigger...Not as nice as I used to be

Registered 5 years agoGot the Google Music app installed and working, but as an actual media player it's a trainwreck. Some options would be nice too, and it inserts some ugly controls on my lockscreen. -

I used to use that with my old nexus. Poor old nexus couldnt manage the stream AND decode propely without stuttering. I dont bother now I have a 64gb card in. Everything is local and I use samsungs own music app. Its actually pretty good.

Registered 5 years ago@crashVoodoo Yeah, the idea of the cloud is nice but that implementation can bugger off. Local + PowerAmp for me, I think. -

Registered 4 years agoI really like Google Music. Been using it for quite a while on my Galaxy Nexus and Asus Transformer. Have 6500 tracks uploaded. Have no problems streaming and have favourite albums and playlists synced to the devices. Also use the web player quite a bit.Pre-childish ragequit username - Harry

Registered 9 years ago^But the Tegra version is 3 Gigs. Are you playing the lesser version?
BTW I cannot decide where is better to play - Xperia Play (physical buttons but smaller image) or Nexus 7 (nicer image but touch screen only).
The game is hilarious, already got my money's worth just listening to the "beer song".

Not playing it at all, the size is putting me off. I'd much rather be playing lengthy games on my Vita anyway (of which I have many).

Registered 5 years ago@Maturin Uploading all my music to the Google cloud now as my external drive started failing and it would be nice to have a backup of thousands of tracks. I still hate the Google Music player (why won't it fuck off my lock screen?!), but the cloud is handy - maybe someone will figure out how to make things like Poweramp be able to access the cloud shortly.gif)
Edit - Jesus wept, uploading is slow!

It's usually instant. I've tethered a couple of times but only for a few minutes and wasn't charged. It seems, from what I've read, that they will block you from tethering if you use it too much.
Anyone else on Three mobile? How quickly does your internet data usage update? Doing some tests with Foxfi to make sure my mobile hotspot is hidden and not increasing my out of allowance bill. So far though my usage hasn't change via Bluetooth mode, or my default Android hotspot app which should add data usage. -

Registered 11 years agoI picked up an Ascend G300 a few days ago - I'm currently re-downloading a few of my old games/apps.
I've noticed that GTA 3 doesn't show up in the Play store - is that because it isn't compatible with my device? -

Registered 5 years ago@caligari Most likely, yeah. If you go to the store in your browser it should show you it, but have a compatibility box at the side. -

Registered 8 years ago@caligari probably. Check the play store online and will tell you if it's compatible or not:

Registered 10 years agoDoes anyone have experience of using any offline GPS apps? More specifically I'm looking to use my HTC One as a sat nav while driving in Australia - I've used Google Maps offline while abroad before, and it's not that great... -

Registered 9 years agoTrowel. Copilot is awesome and free if you don't need voice navigation. I use it regular and once you're used to the 'tap the arrow' bit to get it into normal nav mode, then you're sorted.
Never ever bloody anything ever....

Registered 10 years agoCheers, that looks the business! Great it's a proper ICS optimised app too. Also found one called Osmand which is a little rougher around the edges but uses open source maps. Between them they should keep me going the right direction (err, follow the coast north...) -
