    How bad is the screen-tear on 360?

    Mick Jagger's original lyrics before a rewrite was forced on them.

    All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

    Those are some crazy requirements. I'm in between recommended and high performance I think. Should look purty

    The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

    @RelaxedMikki

    I actually haven't noticed any so far but I'm only about an hour or so in. The only minor technical limitation I've noticed so far is distant scenery can be a bit fuzzy sometimes.

    You climb the first radio tower and some of the mountains in the distance are a little lo-res or fuzzy but its not too obvious at first glance. Bearing in mind the quality of the visuals in the short and middle distance, this is a minor minor concern. I'm sure that won't trouble the PC version.

    Have to say that the character animation and mo-cap is excellent from what I've seen. The matching of the lips to words spoken seems to be up there with the best. Reminded me of the LA Noire facial anim in many ways.

    Vaas is a great central villain. Reminds me of a crazier version of the character Robert LaSardo played in Nip/Tuck

    Cheers - that sounds really promising.

    Screen-tear hurts my head. I can live with all the other technical Digital Foundry stuff (blur, texture popping, frame-rate issues etc)

    I'm going to give Mrs Mikki the all clear to pre-order.

    I also thought the opening sequence was really well done too. Great choice of song. Builds some back story very quickly and then drops you right into an alien situation that you quickly have to make sense of like the character in the game

    @RelaxedMikki

    I can't say if there isn't any screen tearing at all so don't hold me to that, but everything I've seen so far is quality and the reviews suggest it's well worth buying

    @xxblindmonkeyxx

    Shopto.net.

    Ordered about 20 games off them so far and everything has arrived the day before release date. A good few (Sleeping Dogs, Halo 4, etc) have come TWO days before.

    Their prices have gone up a bit recently, but for delivery they are unbeatable.

    Well I certainly "can't get no satisfaction", palmed off with "At the time of ordering, we believed this product was available, however we have subsequently been made aware that this product is no longer obtainable from our suppliers."

    The funny thing is I've slagged Sainsbury's off on Twitter twice now about this order, they're now following me!

    Copy of the Lost Expeditions PC version ordered from Amazon, would have got it from Shopto but they're on back order.

    Sainsbury's Entertainment, if you're Googling yourself or something, do a better job in future and EGers don't rely on them for any pre-orders because they can't be trusted.

    This space left intentionally blank.

    Anyway that's the end of my whinging on the subject, I'll probably be whinging that I've gone out and bought a big PC upgrade to run it nicer in a couple of days instead. :-P

    is anyone else having problems connecting to the "far cry 3 servers"? this is really annoying and a new low for consoles (playing the ps3-version).

    from time to time when you enter the menus, the game tries to connect to its servers. right now i am having problems connecting, which results in a game crash. leaving the menus, the game just freezes

    The game isn't out for two days yet, servers might not be available to connect to.  There may also be a title update for the game yet to arrive.

    Be patient!

    Oh dear. I was reading on Neogaf that there was an issue with capture software and that the actual game doesn't feature too much.

    Much like RelaxedMiki, I can put up with most other technical issues, but screen tear just pulls me strsight out of the the game world and causes a headache to boot.

    I hate the save system on this, for some reason all the relics I collected earlier just disappeared, even though I didn't die before I logged out. Seems very picky on what it saves. It was really annoying when it kept crashing, and having to start all over again. Servers are up for PC though.
