85% in ONM. After all the hype from spector I was expecting big things. I still want it but can't help but feel letdown.

Reviews will be up tomorrow morning, apparently. Hoping it does well because it's a potential present for the kids for Christmas.

Kids will probably love it, methinks you will love it more.

I'm suprised by that ONM score but then as I said I've only played 40 minutes. Seems excellent to me, if you're looking forward I'd still get it. I certainly will be after my brief foray.

After trying the extended trial demo for 2-3 hours I wouldn't be surprised if it got a 6 or 7 at best. The camera is poor for a 2010 game and the controls aren't much better resulting in many jumps to my death, it ended up being too frustrating for me. The painting mechanic is a great idea, it looks decent enough and is certainly a big game but I wouldn't want to continue with it.

hmm, maybe it was just the Disney fanboy in me then but I generally am pretty forgiving of clumsy or awkward cameras.

After the SMGs, it felt like something from 10 years ago to me.

WTF is the extended trial Demo?

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Hmm but isn't that because nobody makes platform games anymore (which I've always loved)?

I was just delighted to be back playing a 3D platformer which seemed to contain a good mix of more modern (Painting/thinning and decision/consequence mechanics) and classic design.

Shamefully it is otherwise known as the yarrrr'd version.

/guilt tempered by having the game on the way next Tuesday

It's the version you can download through your User Created Shop Channel enabling you, the potential purchaser, to make an informed decision by playing the game before deciding whether or not to hand over the readies. It's an idea the good people of Nintendo haven't yet cottoned on to but they may do so within the next 10 years.

Clumsy and awkward cameras are part and parcel of the Wii experience, are they not? No doubt I'll be cursing it all the way through, but I'd have been much more more surprised if it'd actually been half decent.

Well, thats kinda what I said in my mini impressions, more a symptom of the wii itself than the developer. They actually give you quite a large amount of control over the camera throughout. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this more (probably not till Christmas due to the huge pile of "to be finished" games, seems perfect Christmas fodder to me).

Some reviews in, quite a harsh review from Palgn, a very good read though and clearly highlights the games faults. Still interested in the game though, doesnt seem to be many adventure/platforms around these days!

Well, after two hours of playing this with my oldest daughter, all she said was : can we go and play Mario Galaxy now ?

Can't say she's wrong, very disappointing IMO, so dreary and clumsy. Meh.

I suppose it's not a patch on Mario Galaxy (What is though?)
I feel it's a significantly different experience from Mario Galaxy though, both games are worth playing imo.

I can't say I disagree with any of the faults outlined in the review regarding camera and some of the control issues (I pointed them out in my quick impressions too). However, I still think its a a game worthy of attention, granted I've only played about 40 minutes but if you're a fan of the platformer/adventure game genre I think its worth a punt. There are so few lovingly made platformers around these days.

    EG 6/10
    g4tv 5/5

This might be a marmite game.
