It's been a while since I played it but I think 2 took me about 14 or 15 hours.

I played them thru recently on Spartan (I) and God (II) and they each took around 12 - 14 hours. I wander about a bit, plus some bits were fookin hard!

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Well, I'm very disappointed at myself. It appears that when I had GoW1 on PS2 I gave up less than half way through rather than near the end as I first thought...

Anyway, currently solving puzzles in Temple of Pandora, and have just done Challenge of Atlas (or whatever it's called). Great game so far and not too hard on 'Normal'...

Strangely it feels as through I've been playing for longer than the 4 1/2 hours my save game says I have. Odd.

Finished GOW2 at the weekend. Absolutely loved both games. Can't believe I didn't pick these up when they were out on the PS2.

It's not packed with story but I do like the story. Looking forward to the third installment.

Nearly done on GoW1 (Cliffs of Madness). Some excellent sections in Pandora's Temple - Challenge of Hades was great, with the exception of the spinning blades bit!

Hopefully get it dusted over the weekend, and then on to GoW2. Can't really see how GoW2 will be better than GOW1, but I'm looking forward to finding out :)

I agree, after finishing God of War 1 I couldn't see how it could be bettered, but GoW2 somehow improves on everything! :)

I've just seen the Trilogy box on Play.com. Late-comer I know, but I'm assuming then that 55 is worth it for the three games?

I'm not disputing this, but how? I mean, surely the game mechanics are the same, the graphics etc are the same, and the story isn't going to be wildly different, is it?

Maybe I'll have to stop playing any other PS3 game until I finish these 2 games. Starting now.

@Fletche - I joke, of course ;)

You will just have to trust me on this, everything is just bigger, better and badder (Kratos anyway) the first boss alone is immense. Story line imo is better and more structured (the ending is great) and everything just feels more fluid and of course, graphically it is improved with even more grand scale.

That room with the box and spikes in it is a b!tch. Must have taken 10 attempts to finally get it. Trophy is well deserved for that one.

Just at the Architects Tomb - think I'm nearing the end...

And the on to GoW2 :D

Yeah you're not far now. What difficulty you playing on? As much as I adore GoW, I'm absolute turd at these games and really struggled on part of the final boss fight (played on normal)

Normal - Can't see the appeal of playing it on anything harder than that. It's not exactly easy on normal either... but equally not too challenging :)
• Deleted user 29 April 2010 13:13:23
God of War is absolutely the best in the series.

GoW > GoW2 > GoW3

Playing through them all recently just confirmed it 100%.

ARGH - f**king spinning bladed things!!

And those columns! Just when I thought I was past it, there was another, harder, one to do! Fortunately past 'em, but that was probably the most pad-smashingly frustrating section of any game I've ever played!

Got the trophy though :)

GoW - Done. Brilliant, and can't believe I gave up half way though on PS2... Didn't like the Aries boss fight very much though...

Started GoW2 - wow, what a brilliant opening section. So far, this just seems bigger and bolder than GoW.

Not yet (but it's on its way to me)

Thinking of playing GoW3 straight after 2, as opposed to playing Ratchet & Clank ACiT as I'd planned.....

Flying_Pig - sounds like you're experiencing the same as me on the first one. That bit in the Architect's Tomb with the conveyor belts and the endless fucking harpy things... gnnghghghg.

Still, very enjoyable overall!

My copy of this is still in the post. I never played GOW at all or GOW2 all the way through. I don't want to play the 3rd until i've gotten through the first 2.
