Keeping the Governor alive completely ruined the series. It is why the finale was so dire.

    Get bent.

IMO, this season had the highest highs of all 3, yet having quite a few lows (but nowhere near the lows of the first half of season 2).

There was certainly some pretty dumb writing in that finale. What was the governors plan again when attacking the prison? Let's all go into some tunnels and leave our Humvee with a .50 cal machine gun on it unattended? Where was everyone else of the prison gang when they launced their surprise attack? I only saw Maggie and Glenn actually at the prison shooting. What was Rick doing again? The big threat of the governor attacking seemed to be frighten off by some flash bangs and some A-Team style shooting I enjoyed the series overal but it certainly lost it a lot towards the end.

The season had some of the best episodes since the first season, but the first season was still better overall.

This one was better overall than season 2, but that's not saying much, as season 2 was pretty dull until the last episode or two.

I wasn't expecting a full on recreation of the prison assault from the comic but it was orders of magnitude weaker and certainly didn't have anything close to the aftermath of it either.

Comic spoiler it would have been nice if they'd found a tank from somewhere though. :-)

The Walking Dead Season 3 out-delivered everything on television including The Big Bang Theory, The Voice, Game of Thrones, Modern Family, and almost doubled The Bible for the broadcast season for adults 18-49.
    Pfft, please.

It's talking about ratings, not quality.

    aka "The American format".

Replace "zombies" and you've got every popular popcorn American weekly show of the last 10 years.

@graysonavich Dexter, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Parks and Rec, The Office, etc. donít adhere to this rule. But those shitty pointless drama shows do. Donít get me wrong, I watch and enjoy The Walking Dead, but itís still a shitty pointless drama show thatís more concerned about viewing figure retention than a good plot.

I abandoned the show over a year ago, but I caught up with season 2 and 3 over the past week.
It's still dumb etc., but it's not nearly as shit as it used to be. The characters, at least, have turned into badasses. I'm much happier to follow their drama now that they're all hardened killers, instead of just whiny survivors who make baffling decisions and constantly endanger themselves.

They still make baffling decisions, but yes, there isn't quite as much face-palming as there was in season 2.

The most face-palming moment for me was in one of the earliest episodes when they have a conflict with a Hispanic-looking group which is later revealed are not some bad-ass gangstas but they are watching over some hospital full of old people? WTH? I thought that was the stupidest plot twist I have ever seen.... EVER. Yet I continued to watch the show.
Also, I liked Andrea. I just enjoyed watching her and thought she was a damn fine looking girl. Sorry to see her go, but she made some really silly decisions herself.
And and I hate Maggie and Glenn. What kind of relationship is that? "OK, please Glenn I need you to f*ck me now 'cause it's been a damn long time since I had sex" and later they are suddenly in love. Wow that's a nice relationship. Not. It's just a physical thing.

Now that there's a lot of people watching the show I hope they get moar money to spend on zombies.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

She was fine in s1. I liked many of the characters in s1. But then they made her a moron. It's even worse for people who have read the comics, because the Andrea there is one of the best characters.
