    Tempted to order a canvas print.

    Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

    @Tonka *somethinginmyeye*

    Although I note Mum still goes off to work. These dreams usually only work for one of a couple *sigh*

    @Tonka Cheers :D but I'm the lucky one at the moment, although I'm not sure for how much longer. Would be great to be able to stay home for a few more years though.

    That cartoon just annoyed me. "Don't define your life by your job, define it by having kids". Because those are the ONLY TWO OPTIONS.

    Thank you, I was trying to think of a way to express that.

    You are a factory of sadness.

    Wait, so you want him to draw all of the other options available, rather than just the one that he actually wanted to follow and finds fulfilling? Draw your own path.

    Yeah, because a cartoon showing all the options would be such a hoot to read.

    Edit: Ah, beaten. :-)

    @mcmothercruncher meme has decided that he doesn't want children and therefore think that everyone who like children are his enemies

    The thing is, the cartoon would mean nothing to people if it was about finding fulfilment staying at home being a cartoon writer while his wife/girlfriend goes out to work. It's the addition of a child that makes it seem meaningful. Not all fulfilment is defined by your job or whether you have children.

    You are a factory of sadness.

    I think the artist just wanted to work in some Calvin & Hobbes staples into the speech. The words themselves don't say you have to become a parent to be successful.

    It does say that you invent your own life meaning. In his case it happened to be staying at home with his child and try to make it as a cartoonist (which paid off).

    If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

    Goodbye Red, White and Blue Monday!

    New illusion of an origami bomb being ridden in a derelict dye works in Leeds. Spray painted across several layers of cling film spread 20 metres apart.

    A tribute to Kubrick's Dr Strangelove and Breakfast Of Champion by Kurt Vonnegut. Two of my favourite films and books.
