Heh, look at it! It's British Open weather!

I reckon the chances of a Brit winner is pretty high this year, higher than in years.

Casey is playing really well. Garcia will probably choke, but is due a major, as is Westwood, who came closeish last year.

Ogilvy and Poulter are wildcards too.

But Tiger will probably win. Selfish cunt.

I can see Poulter being in with a shout going into the final round, but he'd blow it as usual. Casey should be solid, good chance of a top 5 finish. Garcia won't get close - even though the grouping with Villegas and Scott should take a lot of pressure off him. Ogilvy is a good shout, and my outside tip is Kim. But yeah, Woods nailed on for this.

I'll just pitch this nicely back to the front page.

    snick....skyskyskysky....thunk....roll....applause. There we go.

Watching this on Sky, should be a good 4 days. Pity Monty is commentating rather than playing though. I miss his hot tits.

    Rory leads again!

    This time Rory, come on.
  • Deleted user 16 June 2011 22:40:11
Rory is playing the round of the year. :)

Indeed, Rory -6 as he makes his way down the monster par 5 9th hole (his 18th for today). He could pick up another birdie and finish on 7 under...

Par for McIlroy on the 636 yard 9th hole.

-6, great round. He's playing in the morning tomorrow, when the greens are a little kinder than late afternoon. I guess it depends on the weather.

Nice to see him doing well, hope he keeps it up! (even if I do have a small bet on Stricker to win :p).

Fingers crossed he can keep his head somewhat this time, otherwise he might become known as Rory 'South Africa' McIlroy.

He's a decent pundit on Sky, but he does go on a bit too much like: "It's a good round for Rory, and it's a good round for European golf. European golf. EUROPEAN GOLF!"

He still thinks he's in the RC, bless him, like some old war veteran, fat and bloated and dining out on previous victories.

Heh, he did it during the Masters too. And then the South African came through and won. :\

Does anyone who leads after the first day end up winning?

Although, he's got a pretty big effing lead!

    Beautiful golf from McIlroy.

The hardest 2 rounds are still to come but some record breaking efforts in the first 2 rounds. Lovely stuff.

Oh, he finds the water with his 2nd shot on the 18th after a wayward drive.

    Either way, fantastic golf.

Double bogey for Mickleson and McIlroy on the 18th.

Rory double bogey's the last but is still -11 and well ahead, crazy. No one will get near that today.

Blew his chance to beat/match Faldo's record halfway Majors score.

Said on ESPN that he has the record for lowest 36-hole score.

8-stroke lead... it'll take an epic meltdown for him to lose at this point! Or... someone else playing spectacularly.

Yep, but to say he blew his chance sounds incredibly harsh considering he has been by far and away the best golfer.

I mean, the world number 1, 2 and 3 are just teeing off and they are 15-16 shots behind him.

McIlroy needs a solid round tomorrow, though.

Yeah, it's still the record low halfway score for the US open.

Yang is-3 and starting his round and if McDowall can card a good score he might be getting closer by the end of the weekend.

C'mon McIlroy. What a way to address any demons that the Masters might have created.

    Keep it going man!

Rory -14 and on course to be the first man to ever break 200 after 3 rounds of the US open.

Westwood had a great round earlier, but no one is catching McIlroy.
