I remember hearing that switching accounts can be a pain in the arse, is this still true?

Quite tempted to log into my US account first then go back to my UK one (only bought stuff on the UK one) and then never return if still possible.

Having quite a bit of fun with the FIFA demo - the rear touchpad shot aiming is brilliant & it all seems pretty slick.

Will probably pick up the first one rather than 13 as it's pretty cheap now, not fussed about teams not being up to date as the last football game I bought was FIFA 99...

I do actually have the first version of FIFA on the vita and well I'll put it this way I went and bought the psp version of PES instead. Reason being the AI is awful in FIFA on the VITA and despite things you have to overlook in the psp version of PES the AI is still better. At least that was my experience, this being the internet I'm sure someone has had the opposite experience.

Not really Vita (PSP actually) but Sega have put up a video of 7th Dragon 2020-II here with the director Dai Oba and the producer Rieko Kodama, and it's just completely put me off the game. I don't know if it was just a bad video but there's seemingly loads of asset reuse, the game flow hasn't changed and I don't see any changes in the battle system. I know it's a sequel but paying full price to go through the same character progression again on different maps doesn't appeal.

The worst part of the video was how bummed out Kodama sounded about the whole thing. She's one of the people who defined Japanese RPGs and now she's working with those charlatans at Imageepoch, introducing characters with complete biographies which go "27 years old, wears glasses, big breasts". Massive, massive shame.

Anyone played these Dragon Fantasy Books?

I heard that Dragon Fantasy stuff was pretty terrible. I see it being pushed here and there on some sites, but that's probably mostly because the creator was on a GDC panel with some media types from Kotaku and such.

Don't know if anyone is aware but Vita firmware 2.11 has been out since yesterday. Might be worth grabbing it now rather than later.

VLR has been deleted, just couldn't get into it at all. I want to play a game, not read pages of narrative and my time is precious.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Not started it yet but I imagine that will be my experience too! If I want to read a book I don't turn on my Vita...

VLR has managed to push my buttons but I'll agree the novel sections are overly long, mostly due to each character wanting to explain everything a couple of times. The long breaks between puzzles are strangely relaxing though, for me at least.

Well, both VLR and 999 are technically part of the visual novel genre...

In fact, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the puzzles were only added near the end in 999 to give it some actual gameplay. The game is about 70% story and 30% puzzles, if that.

Only a trial and unlock for PS3.

EDIT: OK, didn't realise you were looking at the Vita storefront. Selecting the panel doesn't give me a price, though I can see the price on the panel itself.

BTW, the last firmware update that added always online and not dropping connection is the best thing that happened to the Vita.

    That is all.

@Gregolution is that an option? Or is that as standard? The worst thing about most Wanted is putting the Vita on standby after a race to go do something, coming back and logging back in to the game as te connection drops.

    @CannonAnBall

Doesn't happen any more and i didn't have to configure it, it was turned on by default. I think in settings there's an option under wifi power saving or something. Have a dig around.

Now as soon as I get home, I'm logged in and see friends coming online, messages etc. I can go into standby, boot back up and I'm online.

    It is a wonderful world.

@Gregolution I'll give it a go later today. It's a great update if its always online.

I'd noticed that games didn't seem to lose their connection every time the screen powered off - it must be set on a much longer timer now as it has dropped when I've came back after 5 or 10 minutes but not every few minutes as the screen went off for a second driving you up the wall.

    Excellent change Sony!

Only took Sony a year and a half to sort, well done Sony. Jokes aside a great update if true.

I got to the end of Chapter 14 (of 21?) of Gravity Rush, before making a conscious decision to set it aside indefinitely. The shifting mechanic is great to use in urban areas and the art draws me in, but the combat is too clumsy, exacerbated by a camera perspective which doesn't keep up in intense moments. With the flying beasties (understandably) evading attacks, I stopped enjoying taking half a dozen attempts to hit the back of a boss's head before connecting - something which I feel ought to have been a routine move.

Time to get stuck into Guaca.

The impression i get with Gravity Rush it was either love or hate with people. I loved it and hope they make another personally, controls i felt wern't as issue though the game was slightly repetitive. At least you gave it a go.

If they addressed the repetition of the game structure and combat, and got some more flexibility in the camera, I'd certainly look at a sequel.

A sequel that tweaked the landing mechanics (I always seemed to just miss the edge of a ledge!), improved the combat and introduced a restart mission option for all the challenge missions would be great although I loved the original game and would buy a sequel anyway. The story and plot in the game hinted at a lot more going on than was explained so hopefully a sequel is coming.

Games from the ps2 I would like to see on the Vita:
    God Hand
Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
    Shadow of Rome
    Yakuza 1 & 2
SOS: The Final Escape & Raw Danger!
