I went with Shopto in the end. If I'd bought a used one from GAME I'd be meticulously examining the console for any blemishes, and wondering whether a solitary scuff would warrant a replacement. And the nearest GAME store is 12 miles away, and I don't drive, sooo...

With P4G and all that lovely stuff on PS+, I couldn't resist. Sony can shove their overpriced memory cards, though. I'll have to put one or two PS+ games at a time on there, and buy hard copies of everything else.

The Vita screen can certainly be scratched but it is MUCH more scratch resistant than the PSP was.

I have no screen protector and I wipe it with a microfiber cloth at the end of each session. The screen still looks great. I think I have one or two miniscule scratches, however, I need to hold it in bright light and on weird angles to actually see them.

FFS I don't know why I keep going in here...You guys make this thread one of the more pleasant ones to read.
I ordered a used Vita from that link on previous page, then cancelled my order but now I'm not sure if it got cancelled, so far no confirmation. See that price is enticing even to us, mainland-ers, although apparently later I started to fear the screen would be scratched to buggery hence the cancellation. I did have one bad experience with buying a PSP from UK eBay in the past...
On a totally unrelated note, I started replaying FFX on my laptop (emulation) and gosh, how I love that game. I instantly recognize every character's name. Looks awesome too. Would be a shame if this did not make it to Vita.

Look's pretty certain FFX is coming to Vita, and rumours about FFX 2 (if that's how it's called). Never played either, so looking forward to them.

I've had my vita over a year, used no screen protector and never wipe it with a lint free cloth just my sleeve. Not a scratch on it.

Finished with F1 2011 - lots of fun and well worth the 12 I paid for it. Fancy another few days with Ridge Racer (again), before resuming my Stranger's Wrath play through.

After that it's just Virtual Tennis 4 and JSR :)

I think it's one of the Vita's best games. Looks amazing on that screen, and while it isn't a total FPS still the best one available on it. Has a lot of humour, and I hope it does well. The biggest issue was the back of the Vita was used for the Binoculars, and if you accidently touched it during combat your were fucked. That's been fixed in a patch.

Have they increased the price for strangers wrath on the sly?

I'm sure it used to be 9.99 but it's showing 13.99 on my store now.

The 13.99 version includes the PS3 version in the pack (so you save 5 on buying both versions of the game).

The solo version is still on the store - in fact, that was the only version I could find on the Vita.

    Yoinked news snippets time!

-Boasting a name that competes with Ninja Gaiden blah blah for length, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus seems to be getting a release over here. Twenty five characters all looking for a fight. Talking of....

-...another game with a lengthy name, Playstation Allstars Battle Royale, will be showing some Dead Space and God of War love. So an unfortunate systems engineer versus a Greek deity. Plus a new stage related to Unfinished Swan.

-And what do both systems engineers and gods like? Curry. Everyone likes curry. So here's a trailer and more screenshots from Holy Sorcery Story in which you will cook a lot of curry.

If your vita screen gets scratched, surely a bit of Applesauce would buff them out?

Stranger's Wrath is a lovely game, and works perfectly on the Vita (aside from occasional use of he rear touch pad, which has been patched). It's exactly the same as the PS3 version.

There are aspects of the game I love; sneaking up and bountying various bad guys - clearing out huge areas a single baddie at a time is a lot of fun. However, I do find some of the 'boss fights' something of a chore and pretty tough. I am making it hard on myself, playing on Normal, but not spending any money to upgrade my equipment etc.

It's a unique game and something well worth playing.

Yep, Stranger's Wrath is definitely worth getting. It's a very good FPS/adventure game if that sounds like your thing. Fairly unique gameplay so it can take a bit of time to adjust to it's style.

Unlike some others, I wasn't remotely bothered by the rear touchpad melee issue but, like Pig said, they patched in an option to remove it. I have PS3 and Vita versions but, as there's no cross play, the PS3 version isn't getting much love. Personally, I recommend just getting the 10 Vita version.

FFX is great (notice how much it is like the first half of FFXIII though).
FFX-2 has a truly awesome battle engine but is ruined by a terrible story, game structure and sensation of overfamiliarity when trawling around the same locations again.

^ I don't know what he means by that, never played any FF past 12.
But I'll admit, the beginning of X is rather 'on rails', i.e. not much choice where to go or what to do. Not that I mind, I love it too much. It's right there among my most favourite FFs (IX, VIII, X).

It does sometimes make you hesitate before buying things doesn't it?

Finger is hovering over buying Marvel vs Capcom 3, don't think it'll be on plus but there hasn't been a Capcom sale recently has there?

Is Ragnarok Odyssey only available as a download here in the UK? How large is the download? 24.99 seems like a not-too-bad price so I'm tempted to buy it after trying the demo but only if it is no more than 2.5 GB in size.

PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 3 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.
