I think they call them Ravagers in English releases for some boring reason.
Foreigners? What kind? Is it the French?!
Played the first dungeon of Ys Celceta, and it's a mixed bag so far. Really not enjoying the arranged soundtrack so far, the bloom is 2004 level and the framerate is a bit eh, but the game itself is fun and fast and responsive. Vita controls are a bit easier on the hands than the PSP ones are in Seven, but I miss the ability to cancel everything into a roll!
I finished the first boss first time - a sign that Ys games are getting easier, maybe? -

Registered 2 years agoHeh, reminds me of the issues with ξένος. Ravagers sounds a bit tame, really, although I can see why translating it as foreigners could cause issues.
A Ys boss that goes down the first time? Maybe you're officially a veteran now.
Did you buy all the games or are some of them demos? Was Nobunaga supposed to be out this week as well? PSN ID: finn1

Registered 10 years agoBought them all. Play Asia's digital codes arrive in less than ten seconds and their markup is fair (about 85 quid for 10k) so I used them.
Nobunaga is out on card, but I don't think there's a download version - I noticed it was missing on playstation.com. I'll check later, but it's a bit in depth for me. -

Registered 2 years agoSounds like a good haul to me. Quite diverse releases this week. I go for physical copies purely because I want to stick with my UK account as my main..gif)
I was just wondering if there was a demo for Nobunaga but if it's not even on the store then I guess that's unlikely. Thanks for checking though!PSN ID: finn1

Registered 5 years agoPlayed the Silent Hill: Book of Memories Demo - Hated it. Didn't expect to be the only one who did.
Dull combat, near-identical rooms connected by identical corridors with a magic torch that highlights wether the same drawers from the previous rooms had an item in it. Also right stick aims but gun fire is on square or triangle so I couldn't actually aim and shoot. Deleted it.PSN/NNID: chrisno21

Agree 100%, reading other peoples comments made me think I had missed something. Got halfway through the second level and deleted it, really was doing nothing for me at all. The puzzle rooms seemed a good idea until everyone was kill this or that.
Will avoid.PSN: Adwab2

Registered 2 years agoAbout the Silent Hill demo... it said that there were three possible outcomes to the room with the little girl. Did anyone find what they were? Just walking into her resulted in neutral. I imagine you could have got bad (or blood?) by attacking her, but how would you get good (or light?)? It was bugging me.PSN ID: finn1

Registered 7 years agoAnyone interested in Monkey Ball, it is up for £14.95 at The Hut I know or £19.99 at DVD.co.uk who always used to be alright but not used them in years.
Seems a good price if they can get back to the original Gamecube gameplay and forget about all of the stupid gimmicks of later versions.PSN: Adwab2

Registered 3 years ago@steve1979 There's a tiny red info icon at the top-right of the character screen. Touching this brings up info icons alongside each stat that tell you what each one does. The symbol you pick before building your character gives you a stat boost (the heart boosts your HP a little, for instance), and is also visible on the character screen of the book.
@chrisno21 guns seem to auto-aim as long as you're pointing roughly in the right direction. You can also hold the left shoulder button to lock on and steady your aim. I certainly can't argue with your assessment of the demo, but it worked for me. But then, give me a map to fill in and I'm sorted
@santashi - I walked into her a few times and she just disappeared, so I thought maybe I was supposed to do something else. So I took a swing at her. Same outcome. Maybe there's only one outcome in the demo..? (EDIT - try not approaching her at all).
EDIT - I'm pretty sure the male protagonist is voiced by Troy Baker.

Registered 2 years ago@Ror1984 After Googling I found this in an interview on Destructoid:
In the first Forsaken room, you find yourself in a child's bedroom. There's a little girl across the room, crying into her hands. You walk over to her, and she screams, vanishes, and reappears elsewhere in the room. So now what do you do? Do you leave her alone? Do you try to attack her? Do you chase her around making her vanish over and over?
Not sure exactly how you're long you're supposed to give it if you leave her alone though.
Each Forsaken room has 3 different outcomes, based on the player's actions. Those rooms act like kind of a psych test for the player, as well as a sort of puzzle, requiring the player to experiment in order to accomplish all three outcomes.PSN ID: finn1

Registered 2 years agoHaha, fair enough. I may give the demo another try later. I quit somewhere in the second level but I guess the demo doesn't allow you to go back to saves.
...But for now I'm having fun with New Little King's Story. Gameplay is fun so far but that introduction has to be the worst voice acting I've ever heard in a video game. It genuinely sounds like they were taking the mickey.
I'm actually relieved that the game itself doesn't have full voice acting! PSN ID: finn1

Registered 3 years ago@Ultrasoundwave did this on a PC last night. I think there is also a way using the PS3 should you have one, but it was pretty painless.
The important options are under 'Content manager', and they are straightforward. You do need to install a bit of software (http://cma.dl.playstation.net/cma/ - has both PC and Mac versions). Once that software is installed you'll also be able to copy pics, videos and mp3s to your vita.
My 4gb card probably took 20 minutes to back up and the same again to restore to the new card. -

Registered 2 years agoThanks HA, I hadn't seen that at all.
In other news, we (well, the we in Europe, NA is already getting it) are going to be getting Ragnarok Odyssey.
Dokuro and Picotto Knights (remember those?) are going to be localised by the same company. Siliconera says for the US, but they also mention that GOEA wants to release games in the US and EU so that sounds pretty likely. Don't quote me on that...
