Just sold my old E-P1 today, 150 for quick sale - I'd forgotten I even owned it as I lent it to a friend ages ago. Oops.

Despite having X100 and D5100 I think I actually enjoy using my little LX3 the most. Having a preset on the dial for square format high contrast black and white is nice to have.

Oh I forgot. I handed my busted LX3 in for repairs. The battery hatch had snapped off. The missus will be very happy to se "her" camera again. One cool thing with the LX3 is the gap between functions on the dial. I could switch between modes in pitch black without looking at the camera. handy when I secretly taped som chinese acrobatics...

That's nice Nth, like the contrast on that.

I've been taking loads of pictures lately, but they're pretty much all of monkman2012 so not of much interest here :)

Ta. Hitting Dungeness again at the weekend with all the kit and kaboodle! I'm liking the 10 stop ND filter.

I'd love to go there can't see it happening as am moving in the opposite direction. It looks amazing even on google maps.

    Great shot BTW!

I love the plasticity of that shot,

Got my GX1 the other day but haven't had the time to do some real shooting with it. First impressions are a slight feeling of being overwhelmed. Soo much control. The E-PL1 feels like a point and shoot in comparison.

Another cool thing is that the touch screen makes perfect sense and feels like something I'll end up using a lot. Thought it would be gimmicky but no, not at all. Bit sluggish mind. It's not a smartphone after all.

Great looking kit too. All business and no frills. (OM-D 5 I'm looking at you with your fake pyramid head)

In short, both intuitive and daunting, at the same time. Mostly due to never having direct acces to shutter speeds and or aperture without fiddling in menues and pressing buttons before.

Not a big fan of the on/off switch either.

E-PL1 was a nasty little beast though so no wonder you're a bit overwhelmed!

    Yeah, a bastard to handle.

"No wait honey, I'm just gona change the aperture setting... eeehh... Ah shit, cloud passed infront of sun, hang on.. where is the ISO setting?

Oh shit. I had the WB set last night at the restaurant. Need to adjust that.

HEY!? Where is our son? Bugger...

    "

I ended up shooting mostly in Auto mode...

A few autumnal shots of the local woodland I took last week:

    Linky.

    Linky.

    Linky.

Linky. Arguably overexposed, but I like it so neh.

Smoke em' if you got em'
Shot with my new camera \o/ (why it hasn't got a B&W HighDynamic like the LX3 is beyond me)

Special point of note. I uploaded this using iPhoto on the iPad and I just noticed that it uploads in a much MUCH higher resolution than iPhoto on the iMac. Bit weird innit?

And check out the noise at ISO 1600. I've never been close to having usable ISO 1600 before. Is happy. (That said the subject matter and style lends itself to some graininess)

Fuck, that's an insane price. It's not even that old is it, the GX1? Only thing is it's the old larger kit lens rather than the power zoom, but still...

Is it any good? Mate wants to buy a smallish camera to learn photography on, and the GX1 seems to fit that bill nicely with its control dials an'all.

I love it, Only niggle I have is that when I'm using a hand crankedlegacy lens I've yet to figure out how to zoom in for focusing (but that is a special case and I'm sure I'll figure it out)

Great way to get into photography I'd say. Plus the form factor makes it a nice travel companion.

Also, the 16MP make for mahooosive images. I'm currently shooting on medium and that is still huge.

I alos secretly love that it is slightly mean looking compared to most other cameras.

I've read really bad things about that power zoom lens.

Oh OK, didn't know that - assumed it was the better one to get as it's so much more compact.

Just been confirmed a few of my pics will be published in issue 198 of Bizarre magazine!
Not paid, but still, a credit.
Will be linked to an article about a great horror file called 'American Mary'

Also, might get some put into 'Ripley's Believe It or Not!'

My Tokina 11-16 was very cheap and now I've realised why, there's crap inside it that shows big time on long exposures. Ah well, repair shouldn't be too expensive.
