Yeah Wales are very strong, I think they will take the championship with relative ease. But still it would at least be a bit closer if Scotland were not a total shambles. Far too many mistakes.

If it wasn't for the poor kicking Wales would be miles ahead at this stage.

Good win, went a bit off the boil in 2nd half but all in all, a convincing start. I had a bet on Wales with a 4 point handicap as well, so pretty pleased.

Looking forward to next Saturday evening already!

God, that England performance on Sat was woeful. Jonno has his hands full, that's for sure.

Ireland vs France though was wicked, cracking game of attacking egg chasing.

A fairly comfortable win for us (the Welsh) yesterday, composed for the most part and defense was sound other than the individual errors that let Max Evans in. Stephen Jones needs to learn how to kick the ball again though.

Looking forward to the England game now, I can't remember the last time we've fielded a team against them where we outclass them in almost every position, and have a better coaching setup :)

    Oh yes.

You guys need to sort out the handling though it was pretty awful and indeed worse than Scotland - if they do they will be unstoppable. Absolutely awesome defense most of the time it just looked like there was no way through forcing Scotland to give away penalties. Wasn't a pretty game to watch by any means.

I watched Scotland vs. wales, it was my first game I watched the whole length.
wow, fucking awesome! no wonder they don't have any ultra fan scene, all the Ultras are allready on the field!
I watched it wich a scottish guy, with a irish guy and a english chick, so you can imagine..........
And the whole drop kick thingy, really impressed me, I could try that 50 times until i would finally get that right.
the welsh really had a impressive defence the way it looked, but like I said, I am a amature when it comes to these sports.

    Handling wasn't that bad?

Wales did have a lot of ball, and it's in their nature to throw the ball around a lot and try passes that may not seem 'on'. Catching high balls was poor though.

    Go Wales!

As someone said on the commentary team yesterday - Wales to win, but no Grand Slam.

I suspect that's probably about right.

/hopes for back-to-back Gram Slams anyway

Does anyone else have a bet on the handicap scores for the games? Ireland at -13 for Sunday looks quite generous to me.

The others are France -15 Scotland +15 and Wales -8 England +8. Those seem a little more tricky to call.

Just got back from Murrayfield - awesome weekend, decent game (though the scots looked lacking in any invention in the first half) and my first time ever in Scotland!

How strange to be going into a game against England with the chance of a genuine rout.... I'm only 26 so never experienced that in my lifetime.

Ireland looked good on Saturday - hopefully March 14 (I have a ticket!) will have both sides going for the Grand slam. Could be a life changing experience that one.

Out in Cardiff on Saturday then SBJ? I'll be getting into town after the game, watching it at home because I can't get into town in time after my hockey game.

Hoping Shane pulls through his fitness test tomorrow, fingers crossed I can't really see England performing, but I really don't want to count my chickens against the English, they were big favourites going into the game at Twickenham last year.

No, fucking Valentines day and Mrs SBJ wants to go the seaside. Have to settle for watching in a pub. In England.

I heard on Sky News Shane is going to play... And Ryan Jones.

Shane is now officially out. damn.

Hopefully we still have the upper hand, although bookies offering England a 10 point handicap now. I'm not sure which way to bet, don't really want to bet against Wales but my brain says it's the sensible bet!

England?? Remember to leave all your rubbish there.

Well better than against Wales at least for Scotland. Too many mistakes though and some very silly ones at that.

Fucksake. Demolishing the defence and then wasting all the work on a penalty. Would have been better to utterly demoralise them with a try.

Scrappy tough game, good one to get through early in the tournament and know we can still grind out a win when we're nowhere near our best. They'll feel that tomorrow morning! \o/

Was really impressed by England today. Much improved with ball in hand, and rock solid in the tackle and generally decent at the breakdown, but still plagued by the penalty disease that they've picked up over the last few months/years.

Fair play to Wales, they were more consistent in attack, well disciplined, and took their chances, but the ref gave England *nothing*.

True, rather watch England lose and play with some of the flair the showed in patches, than win in traditional: "bore them to death" fashion.

I lurk. If I've spoken to you, I'm either impassioned, or drunk.
