Yeah, its only the historic inauguation of one of the most powerful men in the world. I for one want to hear more about ASBOs.

I'd have thought you'd be most interested in Obama's inauguration. If he changes tack and offers strong leadership and guidance in the Middle East then it's the best chance for peace the Palestinians will have.

Anyway, don't like the coverage, change the channel :)

    Sticking to the net.

As for Obama - if he does good, I would applaud it. Hopefully. but the inauguration is not really news is it? Unless he gets assassinated, shot at or something.

Aye, seeing as it's only an event which marks the beginning of a historical first for the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth, I don't see why anyone at all is in the slightest bit interested. If the potential four to five million people show up in DC I guess they will all be there as a giant coincidence.

And yes, I'll probably be watching it just not for the historical significance but to be a witness if something goes wrong. 50% like watching car racing then :)

    "He's not even our president."

Just the president of the country which seems to be the most powerful in the World. It's interesting and all but I wont be watching much, apart from reading the odd interesting article on this if anything interesting does happen other than it goes well.

You silly nonce. It's the most important thing happening..ohh, for years? It's of massive importance and has an impact on the whole world. Just watch the local news in your area if you want to hear about budgets for Christmas trees in town and cats stuck in the canal.

I'm sure they will be able to get a lot more mileage out of Yes We Can....(do nothing), Change (and bring in all the old cronies from Chicago).

It will simply be moving to an irony and sarcasm type of standup, as opposed to the slapstick style used when describing Bush.

I hear he chose that nutjob Rick Warren to do the prayers at the inauguration. Not a great start to pick someone who said abortion was like the holocaust and gay relationships are like paedophilia.

I want him to deliver his speech as an "embarrasing dad speech at a wedding" style rap.

I really don't get the hype over Obama, he's just another politician. So his skin is darker, that doesn't make him the messiah. Although he might be a naughty boy.

My books, contests, reviews and author interviews on my blog

Of course not, but the significane is huge. 40 years ago, he would've had to give up his seat for a white person. Now he's about to become President of the most influential country in the world. It'll change perceptions across the country, particularly young black kids.
