"The Federation of German Consumer Organizations confirmed plans to take digital distribution platform Steam to court by the end of this year following the game distributor's refusal to change its terms of service regarding the right of users to re-sell digital software purchases.

The federation, known also as VZVB, announced its intentions earlier in February after last year's ruling from the European Court of Justice stating European consumers should have the right to re-sell digital titles.

"Unfortunately a date of the trial is not fixed - we hope it will take place this year," representative Eva Hoffschulte said, as reported by Gaming Blend. "Until then, it is not realistic that Valve will change their policy. But our chance to win the process is very good and that will be really an improvement for consumers: then they can sell their games to others."

“It's not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it's not possible to find it elsewhere.”

Think I only spent around £20 this year and got a lot of stuff to keep me busy. A slight improvement on the £70 spent last year :D. Thank god it's over.

That would actually mean the end of Steam sales.

I thought the ruling about selling digital games meant that they couldn't stop someone who, for example, sold their account on ebay but it didn't mean they had to provide a means of doing so for individual games? The prices you'd get for it would probably be so small I'd never bother with it anyway.

It would need a court case to decide what re-selling of digital software purchases means.

So how 'bout that. Euro Truck Simulator 2 actually is a bit good.

I've just spent a couple of hours delivering tomatoes between Verona and Milan, with Absolute Country FM blaring out my radio, and time has just flown by.

Around 1.5 hours of that was spent trying to reverse the fucking thing mind you...

What I want to know it does it includes absolutely essential parts of the logistics industry like phoning up to say the place was shut when it blatantly wasn't, somehow missing the huge sign pointing to the freight entrance and driving down the narrown one way road to the admin entrance and of course answering any questions with the phrase "I don't know, I'm just the driver..."?

:) nah, although my pickup list was fairly long (why does this always happen - I already have more games than I will ever have time to play!)

In related "bargains" news, yesterday I bought a Gamecom 380 headset from Amazon (needed it for Day Z, as I bought Arma 2 Combined in the sale), and it came with Trackmania2 Canyon free - headset seems decent too.

Edit: codes for free trackmania expire on August 1st, which is probably why it is reduced so much - works out at a fiver for the headset, as TM2 is £15.99 on Steam (don't think it made the summer sale either iirc)

I'm not sure what Kentucky Route Zero actually is. Is it a point and click adventure? Is it a platform game? It's a bit hard to tell from the trailer.

Also the Steam description says "A focus on characterization, atmosphere and storytelling rather than clever puzzles or challenges of skill.". So what do you actually *do*? It sounds a bit like "style over substance".

    Huzzah! Just bought KR0.

It's also worth pointing out that the first episode of Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief is out today (Epidode 2 is out next month, with 3 the month after that).

Rockpapershotgun rather liked it (to put it mildly).

Don't read this if you've already bought it!

It's a bit cheaper from the Dev site (US$12.49) and includes a DRM-free copy as well as a Steam key.

Cheers, that marginal extra discount pushed it from 'rather tempted' to 'can no longer resist'
