Miner Wars looks like a spiritual successor to Descent. Is this an accurate impression?

Malkavian is definitely suited to a 2nd playthrough, it's my favourite one though, some of the dialog options are classic. Very flawed game, but classic. Every time it comes up in a thread I end up starting another playthrough. Don't tempt me, have too much to play as it is.
Never invested worthy amounts of time into it despite loving the Masquerade setting/mechanics. Is it controller compatible?

I used to love the replay film maker! I was just hoping that it would still have some of that 70s car chase feel that made the early games great.

OH :( I've never had a Ubi game on PC. Are they really that much of a pain? I was hoping as it was on Steam, you wouldn't have to deal with any other clients. Silly me!

Uplay for Far Cry 3 is fine at least. It's a little annoying, but you just set it to offline and away you go really.

Is FTL perfctly playable with one hand (i.e. doesn't need loads of keys and mouse input at the same time)? Found out today that I've fractured my hand in nine places and goint to be in cast for a number of weeks. Must not use my other hand at all during this time as the 4th metacarpal has been smashed apart, meaning tht the top part of the bone isn't meeting the bottom part, so needs to fuse togerher. May need a plate to hold it together permanently but trying not to go down that riute uunles I have to.

(sorry about typos. One handed typing is bloody difficult. Even with years of practice).

Driver is great. It has a ludicrous Life on Mars-esque premise but the body swap mechanic genuinely is a joy.

Flawed gem, grab it if you like driving games that try to do something a bit different.

Based on my admittedly limited half-hour experience of play, it is totally mouse-only friendly.

According to Steam Driver doesn't have 360 pad support. Had a Google on the subject, but can't see any definite answers, only people saying 'it should work...'.

Anyone got it working on PC with a 360 pad?

GMG has XCOM for 10.50 today. Those guys are completely destroying Steam's prices.

And yeah, Driver works fine with the 360 pad. It's a surprisingly really good game.

It works fine with the pad. Only way I've played it. All button prompts appear for the pad and all that jazz.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

It does, Ubi just aren't very good about making that stuff clear.

Driver on PC plays just like on console, unlike Rayman which I got the other day, oddly it doesn't work with a wired controller but does with wireless, also it does have button images like on console, it has text instead like: x-1, y-1.

Is giana sisters any good? I remember playing a version of that on my Amiga years ago and that was pretty much a super mario rip off.
Try the demo maybe? I did and quite liked it. I like the dark world art mainly. It's more akin to Rayman Origins than Mario now, the demo seemed 8/10 to me in line with the metacritic 82 or so it's got I think.
    Doomspoon wrote:
@ZuluHero I ended up buying it off the back of the demo, it definitely utilises more vertical space than most of the old Mario games. It goes a little into puzzle territory with the light/dark switch stuff and hidden paths. It looks lovely for an indie game, quite similar aesthetics to Trine in some ways.

Mouse does virtually everything, you only have space bar to worry about to pause, which you'll be doing quite a bit.

    edit: bah too slow.

Edited by Whizzo at 13:00:55 28-12-2012

    This space left intentionally blank.

    @Rusty_M @Daddy-Doom Bar @Mr-Brett

Thanks for the conformation guys. Think I'll grab it. For that price, and with the pad support, I think Driver could be fun.
