Registered 8 years agoEschalon Book 1 is a nice old school RPG. Gorky 17 is crappy, Earth 2160 very average. Two Worlds is broken and hilarious. Worth it for a few quid.
Worms is just Worms. None of them has ever been as good as the very first. -

Registered 1 year agoOh, i don't know about that. All the games in the worms franchise are more or less the same game... they've tried to change direction and they failed (worms mayhem and similar)... so they just decided to keep relasing always the same game with new names, in my opinion

It was £6ish at Gamersgate last week, it'll be cheap again. Not "Steam" cheap, but actually cheap.

(Steam almost never has the best price for Steamworks games. That's irony, right?)
Oooh, no actual link to that Big Picture sale? It's worth a look. Some good stuff in there, although Orcs Must Die! 2 is definitely better with keyboard & mouse. That's not my opinion, that's scientific fact. -

I finished Season 2 of the show last night and now I'm so keen on playing the games. I played the first one on XBL and loved it. -

Registered 2 years agoFTL seems to have 40% off on steam all of a sudden. Anyone on here played it? Sorely tempted by the description but times are tight with Christmas close and there's always a chance it might drop further in the big sale... -

Registered 8 months ago@Lt_Drebin I am resisting the temptation to buy it. Convincing myself it will have an even bigger reduction at Christmas.mowgli wrote: I fucking love willies.

I find it quite addictive.
Hotline Miami 1/2 price on Steam (£3.49)This post is unsuitable for those with a high rumour-sensitivity.

Registered 8 months agoI think the best thing to do between now and the Christmas sale, is only buy if the game is 75% off. That way you won't be kicking yourself when those flash deals pop up.mowgli wrote: I fucking love willies.

Registered 6 years agoHotline Miami is a Steamworks game - everywhere you buy it, it will be Steam. I don't like to buy Steam games from Steam because there are no extra benefits (in contrast to Gamersgate's store credit/XP, Amazon's $5 voucher this month, even Shopto's few pence of points) and the price is rarely as good as from other places. Waiting for Hotline Miami ought to be fine. (Edit: if you can buy from Amazon, they've matched Steam's US$5 price and will throw in a $5 voucher to redeem against Editor's Choice games in January)
F.T.L. on the other hand... if you want it on Steam, you have to be more careful. But there's also a very good chance that it will end up in an Indie bundle with a Steam key. Then again, $6 straight to the developer and getting a Steam key is quite nice..gif)
Edited by PenguinJim at 05:34:38 07-12-2012 -
You're best off just not buying any indie games until they're in a bundle, and not buying any major games until a Steam sale.
/wishes he could follow own adviceGet bent.
