The form-factor as a Netbook. There are models by Acer, Msi, Samsung, Toshiba and pretty soon everyone will have one on the shelves :)
According to Angel_Treats the EEE PC 904 has a really nice keyboard so if you want the Asus one i'd look at that one to be honest. As for price, i couldn't tell you if that's good or not sorry.

    Alternatives:
    MSi Wind
    Acer Aspire One
    Asus EEEPC 904

Some Samsung jobbie and a Tosh :)

    Get an Acer Aspire.

You can actually play proper games on it.

    Although saying that -

"I've heard from multiple sources that Intel's graphics driver team is hopelessly overworked and understaffed. We'll just call Intel's graphics driver team "Jim." Jim, I know you're trying your best, but you really need some help, and you really need to prioritize."

    Oh, lol.

My missus goes on the internet, downloads Eastenders from UK Nova, uploads pictures to the HDD and Facebook, and uses a Word-type program once every blue moon - that's it.

I need a Netbook that's capable of doing that reasonably efficiently.

So 16GB flash mem is fine. I want sub £200 if possible.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Far too advanced and expensive though. From what I can see anyway.

With this level of astute technical analysis you should get a job on the BBC's Click programme.

It was an analysis of morriss and DB's sudden bout of frisson.

    Yes, I am jealous.

He'd actually be an improvement over who they've currently got.

I don't know why you're so surprised I thought that was the general consensus?

    Yeah, I'd figured that.

There are three reasons you aren't using your old name and none of them suggests you were the ideal poster yourself.

Why the new user id then?

Morriss - if she's not going to do much typing then I wouldn't worry too much about the keyboard. The Aspire is nice but the battery life isn't great. The 904 is a bit bigger than the 901 and if I hadn't wanted mine to write essays etc then I'd probably have gone for the 901 as it's tinier. Um, although if she wants to download TV shows then she probably wants more storage, right? In which case she'll want a HDD not an SSD and that one you were talking about only has a 16GB flash drive.

Yeah but it's Eastenders, so it's 256Mb per file then she'll delete it. Honestly, no storage is required above 16Gb
