    Oh dear.

Doesn't bode well for the reverse living then. Shame they'll change it so extensively from the book which is awesome.

Be good to se it done in a documentary style.

Still wish they had gone with a documentary tv series format, I always imagined a lots of old men narrating to dramatic recreations of the events.

Kind of like a History Channel documentary but with less Nazi UFOs.

Me too. I was hoping for a TV series rather than a feature film. The different stories split up into one maybe two episodes each

Now they suffered from Mr Pitts ego wanting to play the guy who saved the world.

Mr Pitts ego getting a role of its own? That could make for an interesting behind the scenes documentary. A bit like Fight CLub.

CGI up the wazoo. I'd much prefer a 28 Days Later 3.

    Get bent.

Why buy the World War Z licence if *that's* what you're going to do with it?
  • Deleted user 6 November 2012 09:05:56
Except that a lot of the footage in that trailer looks how I imagined it. I still hope its good, documentary style wouldnt work so well now as it's over done and there is still scope in this format to feature whats happening world wide.

I love how you're all in uproar over a trailer for a trailer. We have no idea what's gonna happen in the movie.

Brad Pitt saves the world obviously while getting it on with a doctor while trying to saves his daughter who happens to be in the secure place at the wrong time.

CGI Zombie ants are like I Am Legend 2.0
Why would anyone hire Foster to direct this. I saw alarm bells when he was attached.

This should have been a mini series on HBO.

No, but we can make a reasonable assumption about the tone and style of the film based on that... thing... that's been revealed.

I'm amazed that they let Forster loose on this after the mess he made of Quantum of Solace.

And as for Damon effing Lindelof writing part of the screenplay ........ I smell a turkey (and it's not even Christmas yet).

@Tonka But....there were no fast zombies in the book, it made a point of them being the old style shambling zombies. What the fuck are they doing?

Well in that case why bother ever watching any movie? Just watch the trailer and be done.

To be fair, the whole point of a trailer is to make people want to see a film, so at the very least they need to make a film look as good as it is, and generally they try and make it look much better.

So when a trailer makes a film look gash, that's a very bad sign.

This isn't a trailer though, it's a teaser FOR the trailer.
Maybe there is something in the full trailer!

I doubt it of course. But I do find the piles of zombies, at least a different take on things.

The problem I have with the trailer of the trailer is that the book the film is based on is extremely nerdy and coherent in what zombies are and how they behave.

The zombies in this trailer trailer behave like nothing in the book.

So everything I liked about the book is undone. Humanity wouldn't last a day against running zombies. That is the opposite of what zombies are all about. It's the endless grind, the ever growing numbers, the lumbering threat.

Not the gushing torent of superfast undead that the trailer trailer depicts.

That could be another film (Starship Troopers) that could be very enjoyable. But why do a film based on a book based on a gimmick and then completely turn that gimmick on its head?

I lost all interest in seeing this in the cinema. Will wait for the mainstream TV release.

I can't argue with this at all.
It does seem to be using the book name just for marketing in all honesty.

I was never expecting this to do the book justice.
Why couldn't they have gotten some up and coming talent that wouldn't have a hissy and stick to the style of the book and told it through interviewees memories shown in extended flashbacks or something.

Agreed I haven't seen the end product yet but going by the video above it seems Mr Pitt will be running around trying to get to somewhere/someone.
