I would love to, but I'm going with my reporting hat on for another site and I'll either be spending my day playing games or writing up notes. It's not fun if it isn't hard work, damn you.

Am tempted, haven't decided what day to go on yet but would be up for this! Is anyone doing both days - looked at the Travellodge but it's 105 for one night so might just do the one.

    I might do both.

I've been looking around for Youth Hostels but I'm really struggling, doesn't seem like a popular place for them. I thought I'd found one on google maps but discovered, to my disappointment that it was salvation army accommodation and I'd have to be homeless to use them I expect :p

Found another one close to the expo but again it was some strange 'German Catholic Hostel' that only google maps and some obscure hostel site seemed to have heard of, couldn't find anything about it on the internet.

A glove you say? That does sound like an attractive proposition given the alternatives.

I'm mostly sorted for accommodation I think. Staying with my mate in Battersea on the monday and at the house what Razz built on the tuesday.

    Pffft! Reservation schmeservation!

Then again, if a sizeable group does descend, it might be an idea... ;o) Anyone got the inside scoop on the best Brick Lane curry?

The ones to avoid are those with curry touts outside, trying to drag you in to sample their wares. Time Out are very snobbish about Brick Lane as a curry venue, so don't cover it in their eating guide.

Digging about a bit Preem gets a good writeup, as does The Monsoon, 78 Brick Lane.

Has anyone linked to the thread about the guy who got chased around Brick Lane's alleyways because he didn't pay a service charge or something?

I reckon everyone should go there!

I'm a gonna be there, if anyone's bothered. Just to show I exist.

This is still going ahead, we'll form up at the entrance around 21:30 and head out, I'm going to request people confirm they're going on Monday to give us an idea of numbers but i dont think we'll have a problem getting fed.

The plan is to head to The Pride of Spitalfields after curry as we'll be able to talk in there unlike most Shoreditch pubs that'll have loud music.

Will be up for this but might be a bit late. Don't have anywhere to stay so will be having to bugger off to get the train. /pleading hint

    Confirm for Tuesday :)

    And on that note...

Who shall be attending the inaugural meeting of the EG Curry Club on Tuesday the 28th of October 2008?

The plan is to meet at 21:30 at the entrance to the venue.

We need an idea of numbers so that we might best decide the location curry shall be eaten at so can you please reply to this thread if you plan to attend!

PS: please remember to bring cash money enough for payment of your meal and drinks!

I know I'm pretty new to the site in comparison to some of you regulars, but I'd like to attend if I can make it?

I promise I'm not an axe murderer.

I've already posted in the thread, but I'll post again to say I'll be there. Will probably have to skip the post-curry drinks (or leave quite early) to catch the last train home.

i'd make it earlier but a lot of people will not be able to go to the expo till after work, myself included, i'm sure anyone who doesn't fancy food could go to the pub and we'd meet them there after food :)

I'll be up for Curry Club! Can get last train from Euston at 23.40 - I'm sure my mother will love me turning up in Coventry at half 1 in the morning. \o/

So where you eating? I may be up for it if the resteraunt's decent. I've got a slight paranoia about eating in Brick Lane because I don't trust anywhere that has to send people onto the street to harass you into entering their gaff.

I'm planning on meeting up for a curry, so count me in.

We can avoid restaurants with curry touts, I'm sure.

Don't worry. El_MUERkO and myself go to Brick Lane fairly often, so Know a couple of gooduns. And, failing that, there's always Canteen in Spitalfields instead.

    Thanks Daisy!

OKies. Er, so I guess I'll just hope someone spots me tomorrow afternoon? I've never met any of you. I'll be wearing the glasses in my profile picture. :{P

And don't forget - it's also Diwali tomorrow. Brick Lane might be a bit packed.
