Flyingpig gets the 2012 award for stating the most blindingly obvious blindingly obvious fact of the year.
Go me \o/
Bought this super cheap in the GoD sale, £2.69.
I actually played it through before, on someone else's XBox, but that was about 3 1/2 years ago.
It's a good game: some annoyances, but nothing major. Currently trying to perfect combos.

It really is a brilliant game. I would have gone for it myself but I've completed it 3 times and done a 100% completion twice.
I could never get combos high enough in the later combat challenge rooms to do 100%. Always messed it up. The Predator ones however, loved those.
Thought I'd have a quick go on this after seeing it as the Steam weekend deal and it seems the latest patch has deleted all previous save games.
That was nice of them.
PC version obviously I'm sure the console one is fine.
Important Batman Arkham Announcement
OCTOBER 17 - ERIK.MILLER
Dear Batman Arkham Fans - Microsoft has begun the process of closing down Windows Live services over the next year. To make sure there is no interrupted service, we will be moving the game to Steam for verification and update services for both the Base and GOTY versions of Batman Arkham Asylum and Batman Arkham City.
If you purchased either of the games on Steam all you have to do is let Steam download the latest patch and you will be fine.
If you purchased the games somewhere else you will need to enter the code in Steam. (You can find steps to do this on the bottom of this.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to continue playing from your current save. You will need to start a new game.
Going forward you do not have to worry about where you stored that disc. If you switch computers or go to a friendís house you simply need to download Steam, log into your account, then go to the library and select to install your game.
The following link can be used to learn more about Steam and to download Steam:
To enter your CD Key in Steam please do the following:
1. Click ADD A GAME....
2. Select Activate a Product on Steam..
3. Click Next.
4. Click I Agree.
5. Enter your CD Key and select next once the game finishes downloading you will be able to play the game.

Tried activating my retail-bought CD key this evening: not working yet. Welcome step nonetheless.
I just finished Batman Arkham City -- Bloody brilliant game. Looking forward to Batman Arkham Origins. Had a preview play of the game at some gaming event and didn't disappoint.
Dont ask me why but I have still never got round to playing Arkham City which is baffling as I loved Asylum. I have had it sat on my ps3 via ps+ since last year as well.
@addyb you gotta check it out mate! I guarantee that you will not put your ps3 down this weekend. Great story as written by Paul Dini. Gameplay offers a lot more options too.
I might check it out over the weekend.

Aye, fantastic game, well worth a play. The Arkham games also represent that rarest of titles - licensed games that are actually good and do the source material justice.
I'm often rebuilding my PC and changing around operating systems for various reasons and as a result ran out of installs for Arkham City. Does this closing down of GFW mean I can use my game again? I never did get any of the DLC...
I would say yes as it would appear that all third part DRM has gone from the game.
Yep all the DRM is gone and I got upgraded to the GotY edition for free too!
After spending five days trying to redeem my Arkham City CD-Key, I sent an email with a picture of said CD-Key and discs. They replied with a new activation code less than five hours later.
Been playing this over the last day or two. Really enjoying it. Only downside is I don't really like the suicide collar mechanic. A bit annoying having a stealth game where you technically can't take anyone out stealthily after a certain point. Feels like it's forcing me to spend too much time hanging from gargoyles...
@DUFFKING Depends on how you look at it, just because the guards get alerted to you taking one of them out doesn't mean it has to be a bad thing. It draws other guards towards them, if your quick for example you can put some explosive gel down on the guard you just took out and take out a group of them.
I just find it limits options a little bit, personally. I wouldn't mind it here or there to force a switch of tactics, but it feels like every stealth section features them now. It doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the game much at all, mind. I just wish it weren't so prevalent.
Just at the bit where Joker has poisoned the water.
