    Given the nature of Mega Man 9, if Sega were to make a proper Sonic 4 (Sonic & Knuckles being Sonic 3.5) and release it on XBL, PSN and Wiiware, don't you think it would sell like these delicious hotcakes I hear so much about? Especially given the larger casual market who would recognise the brand.

    If Sega could reform some of the key members of the original team, as Capcom seem to be good at doing, and stay away from nonsense such as guns, werehedgehogs or playing as everyone but Sonic, and make it a proper retro title that truly looks and feels like it follows the heritage of the main MegaDrive series... I reckon they could get people excited about Sonic again.

    Then again, I would also love to see a proper EAD-team (or whoever made the original) 2D Yoshi's Island sequel, but that won't happen either.

    I think that's what I don't get... it seems like an obvious, obvious way to make money if it's done right.

    SEGA doesn't know how to make money. That's why they're a multiplatform software company with a bad library now.

    Surely the Sonic Advance/Rush series is the true continuation of the old Mega Drive games? As far as they're concerned, they already did Sonic 4 ages ago.

    And there was a Yoshi's Island sequel on the DS, and it was decent. Granted, it wasn't by the same team, and it wasn't as good as the SNES original, but then again very few games are.

    Sad, because it would be the single best thing they could do. They even ruined Wii Nights FFS.

    There's really no point in doing the whole 'Sega sucks now' thing again. It's on the heads of all of you who didn't buy a Dreamcast.

    I would've bought one if SA & SA2 had been as good as Nintendo's flagship titles such as SM64.

    Please elaborate. Yes, they are nowhere near as good, and yes, the new character designs are horrendous, but face it - that's what Sonic has become now.

    You think Sega will make a new 2D Sonic game in the exact style of the old MD games, with the same art design? I very much doubt it.

    Capcom did it. Don't see why it's so unrealistic that Sega won't.

    Anyway, Capcom and Sega are worlds apart. The former actually seem to listen to their fans. :)

    Seriously? I loved the first one, but I bought part 2 a few years ago and thought it was terrible.

    I would've bought one, if the PS1 hadn't been my first console (I was primarly an Amiga guy up until '97), and I was basing my next purchase on the success of that.

    Also, if I had known anything about it.

    You're kidding me? Right? Cos SA1 and SA2 for Gamecube are two of the best games. Ever. (Not that the Dreamcast ones aren't, but they don't seem to be in question)
