If you're not in bed for four days solid (save for toilet breaks) it's not flu, just a virus. Mind you, everything's a virus these days so long as it isn't a bacteria, and it's causing me to miss work. I'm not a fucking doctor - I can't tell the difference between mild influenza and a proper case of viral rhynopharnygitis (fucking awesome name for the common cold).

Anyway, what was the question again?

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

I've had a cold all week. Handled it like a champ though (stayed in bed all day feeling sorry for myself).

That's the best sort - the sort that gives you a valid excuse to stay off work, but enough motor skills and concentration to still play 360.

I had a really bad dose of Man flu last weekend. Particularly annoying as I had booked Friday and Monday off work and ended up spending all of Friday ill in bed.

Ugh. Gearing up for an epic bout I reckon. Throat like a cement mixer since I woke up at half 4. Haven't been able to sleep since. Fucks sake.

I've had a pretty nasty dose of man flu for the last week.

I'm not too fussed about the coughing/runny nose - but my left-ear has been completely blocked.

Any tips on how to pop the bloody thing? I've tried Ye Olde 'hold the nose and blow' technique.

Keep on blowing the snot out. It's when you get to the weird coloured gunk faze towards the end of the cold (yes cold damn you) that the ears seem to sort themselves out I find!

When you say flu, do you actually mean flu, or just a cold?

Cause actual real flu is fucking horrible and makes a cold seems like nothing at all.

(Had to say that as I hate it when people say they have flu and all they have is a cold)
No no no, I said man flu = a cold. I'm lucky in that I have asthma (ahem) so I get treated to a free flu jab.

@ Lukus - woop! I'm at the 'caramel-coloured snot' phase at the mo. I just wish that there was a 'nasal spray equivalent' for my ear!

edit: update! Tickling sensation in my ear - stuck my finger in there and pulled out a huge (what can only be described as) ear-booger. Is this a good thing? I have yet to decide.

Put it near a Nintendo game. If it twitches you found ecosse.

Got a bad case of this, hopefully it'll last into next week when I can use it as a convenient excuse to take a day off to play Tomb Raider.

STILL deaf in my left ear. The cold has pretty much cleared up now, but it feels like my ear-drum is going to explode at any second.

Soooo tempted to stick a knitting needle in there to help it on its way...if ONLY I knitted!

Everyone around me in the office is coughing non-stop today. I'm blatantly going to be ill over Christmas, again.

I've had a cough for nearly two weeks. Thought it was the start of a cold but no every time I think I'm about to get a full on cold it dies away but the cough remains.

    It's fucking annoying.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

I had the flu last year.
They (the ones who say this) are right when they say that whenever you've thought you had the flu, you've just had a cold.

When you actually get the flu, you are in no doubt whatsoever!

Have been feeling slightly ropey / bunged up of late, but am sitting here this morning working my way through a packet of wasabi peas, which appear to be having the same effect as flushing my sinuses out with hydrochloric acid.

I can breathe clearly aagain, but I just whimper while I'm doing it.

Haven't had a flu since I developed diabetes 3 years ago. Free flu jab FTW!

I will probably be a blind, impotent fellow with no feet eventually, but fuck it, no sniffles around here.

I've been suffering with that. Sort of very minor cold, but left coughing for two weeks. Going out in the cold makes me have a coughing fit unless I have a Strepsil.
