Hey guys, got a seriously off topic thread here, hope you don't mind!|
I was wondering if anyone remembers those 'toys' (later 80's, early 90's) which consisted a strip of plastic type material which when struck would roll up? They were about the size of a 6" ruler and usually brightly colored. I think mainly people wore them as wrist bands.
Anyway, has anyone seen these recently? I'm really looking for the manufacturer of these for a idea I have. Any help would be much appreciated.
OT: Roll up ruler toys
don't know how the hell I know this but aren't they these:
Indeed that is it! Thanks for that, didn't realise they were metal....Could the principal work with plastic do you think?
I would have a guess at no, because of the tension made from the metal.
however the wikipedia page does state they use a plastic spring, what that boils down to I don't know.
Great stuff, with all your help I have found exactly what I was looking for. Thanks guys.
So when do we get our slice?
/looks for contract

I've been give 4 of these things of late, one of my coworkers had a bunch that his kids brought home from school, they are surpost to be some sort of safety thing, you put them around your arm.
They work like reflectors on the back of bikes.
