I've never tried Papa John's. None of the people I know have said good things about it here in the states.

We have a local place not far from my house that I order from that kicks the ass of most chain pizza places.

The very idea that Dominos is somehow superior to Papa Johns makes me laugh.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Because it isn't, by a long shot.
    /Papa Johns fanboy

    I totally called it.

@Goodfella Their cheesy bread is the only reason I order anything from them. The pizza itself is mediocre. :p

Never had Papa John's in the UK, how do they compare to the US version? Used to look forward to getting one whenever I'm over there, but I think Khanivor might have ruined that for me...

What is it with pizza chains and dodgy ethics? Wasn't the chap that founded Dominos a big sponsor of operation rescue or something similar?

I love Papa Johns, having now had Pizza Hut, Dominos and now Papas. Papa Johns wins by a long shot, it takes so much fresher.

It doesn't :) Papa John's so much better in the USA. I think pizza is really something we don't do well here. Cheddar on pizza? Just no.

I used to use Papa Johns before it was Papa Johns, but also before I discovered what proper pizza tasted like (I forget what it was called, but I think it had a Direct in the name). I guess they also sell thin pizzas these days, but luckily in this city there are plenty of non-franchise places that make great pizza for good prices.

To answer the thread title, one of the places I use does any size any toppings for a tenner, so I have on occasion ordered a 15" pizza for myself, and eaten it over the course of a few hours.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Anything which claims to be "finest" is invariably shit. Inappropriate toppings on shitty dough.

Had an Iceland "rising dough" pizza last night - was surprisingly good.

A pizza joint near where I previously lived always had buy one get one free on certain pizzas, fair to say they saw a lot of custom.

As did a kebab shop a couple of doors down who did the best chips and cheese I ever had. Used to get food delivered from them despite being in walking distance, good times.

I don't know how I managed to stay nice and slim what with all this pizza and chips.

They weren't the best pizzas mind, but certainly better than any I've had from a chain,

Just confirms how cheap they are to make. It's appalling really how overpriced they are from the likes of Dominos etc.

Bit of dough, bit of cheese, that'll be a tenner please!

Edit: that rhymes, should be a slogan. :D
I don't know about that, I've heard stories of places not getting much custom so trying out the popular buy one get one free and actually charging more per pizza (than previous, I assume they also increased the individual price) but getting a load more sales.

    Portable view - Never forget.

@Goodfella I first saw it in Ireland in the nineties. It's popular here in Cheshire/Staffordshire now.

Also chips and cheese are for amatuer's.........gravy chips and cheese on the other hand is food fit for a king.
(don't knock it till you've tried it!)

I have mayo on mine too but I know there's probably something wrong with that...

I would barf if I had to eat a large pizza to myself. Eat half hot then put the second half in the fridge and eat cold for breakfast the next day.

Dominos pizzas are horrible. Too oily.

This made me lol hard. Well done.

Also, accurate. Out of frozen pizza, Goodfellas is the best.
