Spotted this lurking on a couple of websites, although I haven't seen it in the shops yet. Came out a few weeks back, I believe.

Anybody nerdy enough to try it?

I've seen some APPALLING reviews of it. One look at the screens was enough to blank it from my mind completely.

I'm tempted by it simply because it's strange. And as much as I love the triple-A nature of the quality games on my beloved 360, I think a little oddness would do it some good.

But it'll be shit, won't it? I have one of the A-Train games on PS2 (A-Train 6, perhaps) and that's dreadful.

I rented it the other week. Having never played a game like it, it's hard for me to judge. There's hardly any useful in-game help and no tutorial (also didn't help that I didn't have the manual). I had absolutely no idea what I was meant to be doing in the preset maps, so I just started on a blank canvas and found that it was just a case of: lay track, plop on trains, stick a church and a bowling alley near the station and hope some little AI houses start appearing. Or make as many rude words with blocks of flats as you can before you run out of money. There might be an achievement for spelling out an entire 'Aristocrats' routine, I'm not sure.

I actually picked it up in the store and just looked at it totally puzzled like it was a pink frog with two heads. I was looking at it thinking 'what is this thing?' - then laughed thinking I could buy it and it would be funny for my XBL status to say "Driving a train in A-Train HX" ... and wait for the "wtf dude" messages :D

I put the frog back on the shelf and walked away. True story.

Lies. You don't have any friends.

Why would you want to do this to yourself? And pay for it?

I've asked the same thing about DMC4 actually. :) This looks like something I could wring some perverse enjoyment out of.

I quite fancy it. I'm weird like that. Also it's quite scorewhorish :)
