A few weeks ago I read something in some tabloid about how some girl had seen her somewhere and she actually answered to the name 'Maddy' and she had the eye defect AND was on the CCTV of wherever it was, but she was whisked away by whoever she was with.

I take it that was BS, then?

Something to tide the Express through till April on their now-reduced Maddie budget.

I think they should give Shannon to the McCanns (if they promise not to leave her anywhere).

She'd probably get a pony and not get pregnant at 14.

I just hope that wherever she is, she is being treated well and not being abused etc. that is all i have to say on it. and before anyone starts, there is nothing wrong with a bit of humour. but keep it fairly clean guy's. the last maddy thread caused uproar, when someone started posting sexual remarks etc, which is fucking sick obviously.

Very little chance of that unfortunately. She's either already dead or likely suffering more than she would have had that fate been quickly brought upon her. The kind of people who'd snatch her certainly wouldn't be out to make her life enjoyable.

I really don't get how anybody can find anything to do with the McCanns situation amusing. Before you all have a go at me, I'm not a twat who enjoys sitting on a high horse while preaching political correctness but c-mon, there really isn't anything humorous about it... 0_o

I would guess that those who do make light of it probably don't have children of their own...

Floating all bloated somewhere off the coast of North Africa with suspicious cracks in her skull...

THEY FUCKING DID IT. EVERYONE KNOWS THEY FUCKING DID IT. THE PAPERS KNOW THEY FUCKING DID IT. AND THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE TO PAY BACK SHITLOADS OF CASH AND SPEND THE REST OF THEIR LIVES IN JAIL BEING BUMMED WHEN EVERYONE FINDS OUT THEY DID IT.

Shit, I'd take some short term suspicion if I could be paid a substantial amount of money.

Fluffy you going to claim some off us for all the allegations? That's assuming they were untrue of course

Good for him! Can't be nice being accused for a crime like that without no evidence.

so how did her blood get in the back of the hire car they hired a week after she went missing? or was that made up by the press? I'm surprised the parents haven't tried to take the papers to court :p

That Murat bloke has done alright out of this. They say he will get half a million compensation from the tabloids. It's almost worth getting accused of a crime you did not commit (or at least a crime no-one can prove you committed as personal I think Murat fails the does this person look like a pedo test).

They did actually successfully sue the Express, I believe.

The DNA traces in the back of the hire car haven't been explained, but that came from the police forensics team, not the media.

You rather get the impression from the way the police in Portugal and the UK are dealing with the McCanns - not involving them in the investigation, only handing over documents to the private investigators very, very unwillingly, etc - that both forces firmly believe they had a hand in the girl's disappearance. In the absence of a body, though, it's fucking hard to put together a case - there would always be the reasonable doubt that she'd been abducted, which makes it pointless to press any charges.

Must of been hell being accused of it, and having your face on every paper. half a million doesn't sound like enough to be honest considering how much money the papers probably made out of this sad story. Until they do charge somebody it's always going to hang over him, and I suspect he had fuck all to do with it anyway now that everybody thinks the parents tried to cover up an accidential death,
