Really? Agree on the old ghost being better (in terms of character and actress), the new bloke playing the vampire is top stuff, probably the best thing about the whole show.

i finally watched this on iplayer last night, just about the most depressing thing ive seen on the small screen in ages! i was expecting from the promos that this would be slightly more comical and although there were a couple of laugh out loud moments, it took me completely by surprise.

i think its one of those programs that'll keep me watching to see what happens but i didnt really enjoy it in an entertainment kind of way.

Much to my own suprise I actually rather enjoyed Being Human, I was expecting one of those oh so funny 'look there's a Vampire, Werewolf and a Ghost living together isn't it funny' naff BBC sitcoms that are pumped out all the time.

I was suprised at the seriousness of the tone, it certainly felt a lot harder than Angel, without being all moany and emo. I'm rather intrigued by the whole coming battle thing, that would normally have rolling my eyes at not another apocolapse. (I watched to much Buffy and Angel)

I particularly liked the werewolf 'squatter' that imposed himself on them.
    Was very well acted.

Another good episode last night, I'm really enjoying this.
Thought Gilbert was a great character and liked the whole thing with George and Nina.

I note the Beeb are pumping as much promotion into this as possible. S'funny, they probably commissioned it off the back of the pilot because "Dr Who and Torchwood are going really well, so therefore any old rebadged fantasy / sci fi bollocks will"

And that's what this feels like, very watered down dramacom that just happens to feature fantasy characters.

This week's episode is definitely the weakest so far. Picked up towards the end: despite it all being quite obvious where it was going, the ending was well executed. A few more LOL moments as well this time, which was good.

The vampire story line is so slow though. Even the story between him and the woman he changed is painfully laboured. Analogies with drug addiction and sexuality, I get it, FFS! Why not just stick up a neon sign? Get on with it, man!

And is it written in to the contract of the bloke playing the werewolf that he has to be naked in every single episode?

I think you're being too harsh tbh. This is better written and sooo much better acted than Dr Who, and it laughs in the face of Torchwood while giving it a Chinese burn. Admittedly it wouldn't have been commissioned if it wasn't for them, but that doesn't make it a quick cash-in.

This is better than some "proper" drama that the BBC has been doing, without relying on the "well at least it's sci-fi/fantasy so we'll put up with it being a bit shonky" card.

Hmmm I dunno. Its main hooks are so leaden and cliched. Plus none of the leads are that convincing in their roles....

    IMHO of course.

Yeah, I see completely were your coming from with it being very clichéd. But compared to yet another quaint costume drama/maverick cop/doctors and nurses drama, I find it a breath of fresh air :)

Compared to everything else on BBC3 it's up there with 'The Wire'.

It's watchable at least, given time it might get pretty good.

Did anyone catch last nights episode?

I thought it was great, some nice twists and dialogue. Though did anyone catch what Annie whispered to her cunt of an ex, I thought it was "There is a Hell" but i'm not sure.

Hopefully it'll be shown on BBC2 and finally get the attention it deserves, this pisses over any recent UK "cult" TV.

    This space left intentionally blank.

Think we've got one last episode haven't we, I guess it'll run into another series though.
