I would much prefer this to be a reboot film, because it looks pretty badass. Apparently there is one for 2013 scheduled, maybe this is a treatment video to get the film greenlit by the studio execs.
If it's for a new game, then the effort they're going to just for an intro/cutscenes is pretty cool, but a waste of the gritty new look, plus they'd have to film loads for each character if there is a story mode where you don't have to just be Scorpion.
