Been planning to go back through these games as a mage. Imagine it would be very different from the epic game I had as a ranger - archer. Only the expansion to BG1 that I don't have, but don't get the impression I'm missing much.
Guess I will go through as a mage when uni finishes. Pass the time until the very good looking and well-received Star Wars: Knights of the Old REpublic comes out on PC, in the UK
