PGR3 global tournament

Finalists race in Lambo factory.

Microsoft's announced a PGR3 global tournament to take place over the next two months on Xbox 360 - culminating in a showdown for the world's top racers at the Lamborghini factory in Italy in June.

Details of the competition, which is open to registration worldwide until April 28, can be found on the official website - just click on a continent and then your country for regional information.

An automatic update will be made available soon to get you prepped for the tournament - and if you don't fancy it you can always just watch on Gotham TV.

From April 17, regional qualifiers will take place, ending on April 30. Then in May, a semi-final round of 64 between the 4th and 7th will cut us down to the final list - some of whom will be transported to Sant'Agata Bolognese in Italy to race around the Lambo factory.

Other prizes include some of those oh-so-sexy limited edition black PGR 100 Xbox 360 consoles, racing gloves, t-shirts and more. Check the website for more details, and if you ram me into the first corner you're effing dead okay?

you're tryign to compare theese 2 games, are you for real?
maybe if you were comparing forza to GT4....

but PGR3 is pure racing bliss, no question!
i have no chance of winning, but the taking part will be fun for those involved i'm sure.

AFAIK all the top PGR3 drivers use Ferraris. Why in the Lambo factory then?

Maybe the person organising it likes lambos and always wanted to tour the factory :)

I would love to take part but a fear I am far too inept to qualify.

Perhaps I should set up a local competition for people of equal calibre, followed by a trip to the local boozer and tour of the Tooting Mazda garage.

    Hits ignore too.
I have no time for pointless comments.

This does sound a good competition, but some good points have been made:

All the best drivers do use the Ferrari F50GT (I think it is)
I am no where near good enough to be considered!

But this is a great example of how good xbox live services are - suck on that all you people trolling about the PS3 - we are having loads of fun - right now!

Amusing how there's no proper UK page. It asks you for your "State" on the entry form even if you've clicked UK, for gawd's sake.

I even tried putting "UK" at the start of the URL. Bizarrely it takes you to a Ghost Recon page...for the US!

    @jamesphilp

Ferrari doesn't just have the best class A car, it has the best performing car in every other class as well.

I drive the Toyota GT-One, it's not as good, but it took me that long to unlock it I am racing it purely out of principle.

On the side of the page there's an advert for the upcoming "Speedpack" under "Tournament Opportunities". Perhaps they'll be a Lambo in there that will beat the F50? Anyone know of one out / concept?

There's a new spec Murciealago due out later in the year, but that's it as far as I know.

I wish I was good at PGR3, neve did the Platiniums (shame, shame), as I found the Golds (wich I did!) pretty challenging. I wonder if it's "oh-so-hard!" to do the 50 GS, related to this tourny.
    Anyone ?
