Go! Puzzle for PS3 in May

Sony confirms new date.

Sony UK has confirmed to Eurogamer this morning that Go! Puzzle will be released on 11th May.

It was due to come out last Friday, but was held back for an unknown reason.

The game is made up of three separate puzzles that you can buy from the PlayStation Store for GBP 1.99 each, or all together for GBP 3.99.

The Aquatica offering challenges you with lining up mines to safely detonate them; Swizzle Blocks gets you to clear screens of mounting coloured blocks by twisting them around to match up colours; and Skyscraper lets you puzzle your way up seven cities' worth of lofty towers, each with its own quirks.

All of these will tie your brain into knots in various game modes, as well as head-to-head mutliplayer puzzling.

Sony also confirmed PSN dates posted recently on ThreeSpeech, the unofficial blog-voice of the company. So, expect to see Calling all Cars on 18th May, Nucleus on 25th May, and Super Stardust on 15th June.

I'll step up: when I saw the name, I thought it was going to be a collection of Go puzzles, like the DS game that just came out in Japan, but in English. But no. Fucking Sony.

I think that we'll see the first downloadable PS1 games instead this weekend, considering the 1.70 update features we got last week, and that Go! Puzzle was planned as backup in case they couldn't make it in time. Until they got the PS1 downloads (also for PSP) up and running in Europe, they'll have trouble getting their weekly downloadable up on the PSN, so it's an important milestone, and long overdue in Europe. Everyone who has tried a PAL PS1 game on PSP through less official means will understand that there was still a little bit of work to be done there, and I think they like to roll out PSP / PS3 playback simultaneously in Europe, as that looks more professional than the weird PSP only then PS3 also with fix per game release that they are doing elsewhere. ;)

Yes, C.A.C. looks fun, but come on!... WTF? They're actually slowing down the euro releases at PSN instead of speeding them up??
    Gimme my MKII damn it!

I think they mean that Go! Puzzle was supposed to be released last weekend. I was certainly disappointed to not have a new game for the first weekend since buying my PS3, but this was pretty much what I expected had happened. Presumably they found a last minute bug.

On the bright side we did get a few trailers. Can we have more of these please, Sony? It can't take too much effort to get some video of the latest movies and games on there and surely the producers of said movies and games would be happy to pay you to put them on there?

Agree... why are there no trailers for Spider-Man 3 for example?

Biggest Sony Pictures release of the year and no promotion thru the PS3?... strange!

What do you mean, no promotion? Isn't that Spidey font sticking out of your PS3 forever promotion enough for you? ;)
