EA games to bundle Wii MotionPlus News

Wii News by Robert Purchese

21 April, 2009

EA plans to bundle the Wii MotionPlus accessory in sports games Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Grand Slam Tennis this summer.

The packages will cost GBP 49.99, which is 10 quid more than normal Wii games.

Wii MotionPlus arrives as a standalone accessory on 12th June. European pricing has yet to be set, but Americans know they will be forking out USD 19.99 for each clip-on WMP attachment.

Wii Sports Resort will also bundle WMP when released on 24th July.

Wii MotionPlus doubles the motion-sensing capabilities of the Wiimote by adding a gyroscopic sensor. There are no more degrees of freedom Nintendo can now add.

The result has been universal praise. Our hands-on impressions of Virtua Tennis 2009 - another game to adopt the technology - can give you an idea of what to expect.

That MotionPlus add-on had better be good.

£40 for a Wii game still feels fairly dear to me.

I was hoping EA would do this. Can now pick-up Tiger and M+ for a reasonable price instead of getting fleeced separately or having to buy Wii Sports Resort.

Hopefully Virtua Tennis can do the same. Then at least it's a straight shootout between the games.

Mh, to be honest, I was gearing more towards VT2009 because it doesn't use buttons. What's the point of WM+ if I still have to press A or B to change my shots?

That's good to hear. I makes sense bundling it with those games but even though it's very obvious I wasn't sure if Nintendo/EA would be doing it.

I'm keeping an eye on what happens here. I need more positives on my 'reasons to buy a Wii' list.

Nice, the EA tennis game is now suddenly an instant purchase. Well done.

Guess this means we can expect the accessory standalone for £15?

I hope these deals hit down under, with the budget price of both EA games its likely with M+ it wont be more than 100 AU!

This is what it should've had in the first place.

Also the original Xbox should've had wireless controllers, and the PS1 should've never been launched without a blu-ray player.

TW shall be mine. Thought the 08 version was pretty good, looking forward to seeing what M+ adds. Only an extra tenner, too.
