Elite: Dangerous combat now playable if you're a 200 alpha backer

Paid up? You can now try single-player space battles.

A portion of Kickstarter success Elite: Dangerous is now playable for alpha backers of the game's crowdfunding campaign, developer Frontier Studios has announced.

Backers will need to have pledged 200 or over to be eligible to try the gameplay slice, which lets users test the game's single-player combat.

Other alpha sections of the game will be made available next year as they're completed, and then will filter down to beta backers who pledged less.

Eight single-player scenarios are included in today's release - watch a few in action below.
