No Dissidia: Final Fantasy PS3 plans

Squeenix to consider PSP port prospects.

Square Enix is yet to decide whether its Dissidia: Final Fantasy series for PSP will make the jump to PlayStation 3.

Series producer Yoshinori Kitase told Siliconera the company had yet to mull the prospect over, although there were no immediate plans.

"The concept of remastering PSP titles for PS3 is a new idea and initiative from Sony," Kitase explained. "We have not had enough time to think through and plan our actions."

This year sees the first batch of PSP re-makes arrive on PlayStation 3 under the "Sony's PSP Remaster" banner. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd leads the charge in Japan this August, while the God of War Origins Collection is slated for September.

The portable side-series features action RPG elements with a strong focus on fighting. Matt Edwards knocked up a healthy 8/10 score for the original Dissidia: Final Fantasy in 2009. A prequel, Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, launched earlier this year.

Why didn't Eurogamer review Dissidia 012? Not angry, just curious. I'd have thought a title bearing the FF name would have garnered some attention from the staff.

PSP and DS reviews are very few and far between on Eurogamer, not having a go, im guessing theres more demand for consoles and they have limited time.

Would be nice to see more exposure to games on those platforms tho, even if its just bits of news, would be more interesting than 6 articles on Brink in a day or duke nukem or bobby kotick etc.. that weve had in the past.

I'm also curious about the lack of a duodecim review - probably because it was regarded as the same game without much of a difference?

I would certainly consider buying a remastered version of Dissidia. If it means there'd be others to fight against!

Duodecim was a prequel and a remake of the original with loads of bonus content, an improved battle system and a new, more aggressive AI option. To complete the 012, 013 and 000 campaigns took me 80 hours and I've barely touched labyrinth mode; maybe that's why it hasn't been reviewed... maybe it's what GamesProgrammer said... who knows? It's a MYSTERY!

EDIT: and tbh I'd much prefer them spending their time doing an HD port of FFXII!

It was particularly strange that Eurogamer didn't review Dissidia since they kept putting up a load of videos from the game leading up to its release, even a few the week it came out. Then they just seemed to forget about it!

They should really reconsider this, because Dissida is a pretty good game, i just miss to have someone to play with (offline or online).

if square enix doesnt go for a ps3 version of dissidia then they are either stuck up artist assholes or anti money
multiplayer on psp really sucks in my opinion, id love to have this for ps3 to challenge friends at and im sure there are lots of others thinking the same
