Pinball Challenge Deluxe (GBA)

by AOFanboi

This is an accurate port of the Amiga games Pinball Dreams and Pinball Illusions. (Waits for the stampeding ex-Amiga owners to return after rushing out to buy the game.)

Ahem. What very few people seem to realize is that their trusty little GBA SP has the power of an Amiga 500. This is very good news for those that see the GBA as a retro platform, because then you can get lots of really cool games ported to it - like the aforementioned classic 2D pinball games.

And the boards are all here: The simplicity of Ignotion, Steel Wheels, Beat Box and Nightmare from Dreams; and the more complex tables from Illusions: Partyland, Speed Devils, $Billion Gameshow and Stones & Bones. The sounds are right, the sometimes-strange ball physics are right, and the gameplay is just like it was on the Amiga way back when.

So you fire it up, and play a good game, racking up the millions of points to get you into the high-score table. You turn the GBA off, and when you turn it back on, your high-score is gone. There is no battery-save! I mean, what's the point in having high-score tables in a game when they're not saved? That cost you rating points, Ubisoft!
