I don't even know where this criticism is coming from, most Nintendo series are much much less than annual, every 2 to 3 years perhaps, and generally unique and of exceptionally high quality. Reply+6
@erp Absolutely, those articles were great, and it made it even more special to go into a bar in Yakuza and be informed about all the whiskies. Reply+2
I'm drawing a blank on too many classic console games from western devs too...
After dabbling in PS3 and 360, the Wii is still my favourite console this generation, because it has the most game I love, and they're mainly Japanese.
Pretty much anything western I prefer on PC (shooters, RPGs), and it's only a few console titles (and especially bayonetta) that have pushed the other consoles for me. Reply0
"I mean I never reset high score tables in arcades before dropping my pennies"
But this isn't like locking the highscore table. This is like you playing Double Dragon and finding your game starts on the last level, or playing R-Type and finding you already have a bunch of extra weapons and 10 lives.
No, it isn't like that.
Great game by the way, despite being really busy I've put over 7 hours into it this weekend. Reply-1
Once you've got over the initial 'what's the point in playing without achievements?' lunacy, I've been finding DS and PSP gaming recently a liberating experience, just take it at your own pace and enjoy what and how you like, without bothering with (generally poor) arbitarty challenges, often resulting in a restriction on how you play.
