This is kinda how I felt about the Wii U, as if if had been designed by committee without the soul of a more singular vision. It's sad because this isn't really a corner you can come back around from, like online passes or installs on a console. Reply+3
We've been burned by Sony so much, there's no way I can even begin to believe this. We'll be gouged the most as usual. If you think Sony are getting smarter, look to the pricing of their Vita memory cards.
I have no doubt the hardware will be great. But whatever hunger led them to the genius handling of the PS1/2 is gone. Reply+1
How long did the PSP exclusives take before coming to PS3? Liberty City Stories? Vice City Stories? Peace Walker? I guess at least this is a new IP. Maybe Sony are finally learning from Nintendo to treat portables as a real platform with real developers and exclusives instead of B-teams, spin-offs and timed exclusives. Reply+5
@kingcrowbar I imagine it's actually a 16gb SSD and all of the 12 is usable, meaning you should be able to play one or two first-party games at a time (without deleting and reinstalling). I think third-party games tend to have larger installs, but newer ones seem to be reasonable.
This looks like a good solution to 360 people like me that wanna play the shit ton of exclusives before next-gen.
It definitely looks like a price bump, though. Reply+9
Maybe this is like Sony's version of buying yourself a year's membership to the gym to force yourself into exercising more. They'll have no choice but to make more games now!
