Ouch. To think I was worried the Natural Selection 2 player base was going to be diminished by this. If anything it could increase, if Unknown Worlds quickly ride on the disappointment and release their free content update this week, coupled with a steam sale, here's hoping. Reply+3
Nice interview, as I said on the survey more of this type of thing please, I have watched TB on and off for about a year and and it's good that EG are introducing us to these kind of people Reply+13
So there are those that complain but if you've played BF3 at all you would know what your getting with these large maps on console. Conquest a little sparse but good for less frantic play. Alternatively it shouldn't matter how big a map is on Rush and clearly from most reviews it is the better mode for the lower count.
For those insisting on three reviews for a DLC you may have to look elsewhere but you'll have to wait as PS3 is the only format that gets it early, if you have the luxury of choosing which format to buy then as always on BF3 PC is the lead platform.
The only complaint that really stands up is that Dice could have compressed the conquest mode on console more but I would have to play it too find out if that's true.
Another vote for "Supply Lines Conquest" mode, didn't know it had an official name but it's clear this would be great on console and I we have 2 more DLC to go, so maybe we will see. Reply0
With regards to the controller the big space in the middle is for the touch pad (to help android conversions) as for naming the buttons they coould go for w,a,s,d or for really old school speccy style q,a,o, p Reply+2
Ok the last 10 minutes were better, with lots of apologies but I still think all concerned should have to listen to this 3 times before they are allowed to publish again. Reply0
Are there many other examples of fan run servers on consoles? I think it's good idea in principle but will need some extra work before its escapes some of the highlighted problems.
Search "eurogamer" and you will get two well run servers that I have never had a problem with. I may try a few other mentioned here and fav them if they are good. This is not too much effort for the benefits. Reply0
Not going to happen Nintendo, sorry. Find a new IP for your multi-player FPS, or facelift and old one specific to your hardware. Time splitters would work (always wanted a good multi-era FPS and DICE aren't taking my calls)
Hell, Team Fortress 2 must be an attractive option. Cute, Family Friendly, almost finished, good reputation, no decent console release. Go on take Gabe out to lunch he looks like he needs a good meal. Reply+4
Yup BF:BC3 is the one I'm looking forward to, hinted at in the new map pack. Hopefully with next Gen Console as lead platform (tongue and cheek SP, no jets & universal gun attachments). Next gen better up the player count in multi player games otherwise I can't see the point of making the jump, PC had 64 player servers 10 years ago. Reply+3
I think its Jim Rossignol and Tim Stone of RPS that champion this genre, wouldn't like to play them but makes good reading. Nice to see there something for everyone.
Surly they coudld combine some of the ideas, Street cleaning, milk floats, Dust Carts & Ice cream could all be Van Simulator, another group of trades (Chimney sweep, loo-maintnenance) could be a man simulator.
Scrap that just have "Man in a Van" Simulator and you've dominated the market with an endless amount of sequels. Reply+5
@metalangle. While I agree that the disarm gamble was exciting, you could sometimes tell by the frequency of beeps that it wasn't worth entering the M-com building.
With the new rules it will always be worth denfenders rushing in to disarm at any stage of the countdown, the excitment will be if they can clear the room and get to the m-com in time.
We will now be treated the classic hollywood scene of people rushing into a building only to have it instantly expolde. Reply+1
I your not enjoying the game because a)you haven't got all the unlocks or b) your team is losing then you not playing it with the right attitude.
I have no objection to people paying for content access but to get it all at once means you don't get time to learn it all very easy. The only time I wasn't having fun in BC2 is during spawn raping (attack or defence) or unbalanced teams by qty as long as DICE have reduced this I will be happier. Reply+1
It's a shrewd move and I hope it pays off (similar to 1943) I have no love for disc based media or low quality Single Player FPS and would happy have all my shooty fun delivered this way, hopefully the lack of trade-in ability will keep the community alive longer. Reply+1
I quickly found out the most effective way to play Oblivion was to have very tight control over you major skills so you didn't level too quickly a get run into a Minotaur as soon as you left a town (lord knows how the locals manage). Fast travel becomes a crutch when you can barely survive walking on the highway from one town to another.
2nd time round I had a paper tally chart of stats and skills so I could track it between levels, i'e thats enough sword fighting for today better get out my mace or better stop this quest and go home to mix up 30 health potions.
It was incredibly geeky and I had to hide the chart from my wife. Reply+15
Like many I have faith that the multi-player will be fine, better than fine even. Single player is a bonus for me but this and all the promotion so far is not aimed at me. Like Titus said its aimed at taking the FPS Crown, I hope by the end of the year we have a new and gracious king.
PS. According to that video we should have a new trailer today. Reply0
