    The Hurt Locker.

It's alright. But I'm not seeing anything worthy of an Oscar here.

Worth is just for giving Cameron the middle finger. Amazing trolling by the Academy there.

    Mama - 6/10

Enjoyable and pretty atmospheric, thought the ending let the film down though, it was like they didn't really know how to finish it. Worth a look for genre fans.

It's not an engaging film. The story is a bit weak, and was made weaker by allegations that the whole story had been made up. The performances are good, but it's hard to emphasise with any of the characters expect Ronan's. I'd been looking forward to it, given the time since Master and Commander, but it didn't really deliver. I think it bombed at the box office too.

    @CharlieStCloud

She liked After Earth end of story.

For what its worth I liked it too having now seen it.

Sure its not a 10/10 but its not deserving of the kicking its getting.

I preferred it to the latest Star trek which I hate more and more the more I think about it.

You also said Superman was good.

Bottom line: You can't be trusted.
  • Deleted user 14 June 2013 15:08:30
You must be mistaken if you think I give a shit.

    I'm no pro film reviewer.

And I will still say that After Earth is not that bad.

Just like John Carter last year which wasn't that bad.

Oh yeah and superman is good you will find that out soon enough

How is your 'Box Office Predictor' wife still in work when she, apparently, likes shit films?

After Earth! Its amazing! Guaranteed bank!

    *weeks later*

Sharon, I would like a word about your optimistic numbers for After Earth. And John Carter.

    Precisely.

    I don't trust him a jot anymore.

... the only thing he got right is Prometheus, which he says will divide opinions on a large scale, and it most certainly did.

You know what I am worried about?

He says Pacific Rim is incredible, AMAZING, the 'film of the summer', etc. and that gives me nothing but a feeling of worrisome concern. His wife is a lucky lady to be working in an industry in which After Earth is deemed 'a very good film'.

I thought it was ok, just a little dull, it probably rates a 6 for me.

You're also colouring people cunts -- I'd assume with crayons -- so I'm not sure your opinion matters.

Man of Steel. If you want a very actiony and humourless Superman then 7 or 8/10. If you want more like the originals then you'll be very disappointed.

It's like an ADHD version where they've not held back. They've done a good job of making Superman et al feel as powerful as they should be, there's just 1 or 2 action scenes too many and they do feel overlong in places.

No slo mo and I can't actually think of any other director that would have gone with this style and more or less pulled it off.

Apparently Zod's super-bitch is meant to be very good.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Assuming you mean acting, she's nothing special.

    Costner is very good though.

It just needed to be 20 minutes shorter. If I was 15 then it would be the greatest film ever.

    Costner is very good though.
I'd like to see them mix it up with the next one and do a Vice Versa. Costner gets powers and supes becomes the father figure. Costner then joins the justice league and teams up with batman, played by Alfred Molina.
