    Skyfall 6/10

    Worst of D.Craig bonds.
    No idea why everyone said so great.
    It started great but just ended terrible.
    The villian had no decent agenda and why the hell did he have an army of villians with him?? oh he a cry baby wanting revenge, how does that get you money, the best cyber ability in the world and loads of mercenaries?
    The whole end act would have better been served in the daylight.
    Just so over rated it is not even funny.
    First 60 minutes were excellent.

    I liked the end, was well shot too. Didn't like the car appearance, makes no sense being that one.

    Felt like that part at the end was made for Sean Connery.

    Worse than Quantum, no way. Not better than Casino Royale.

    Craig isn't the most handsome guy, worse with each film.

    Fucking exhausting. Still not quite sure what I just saw so can't really give a score but I did like the story, sets, costumes and music. Not a big fan of musicals but I preferred this to phantom of the opera (film) and it is infinitely better than sweeny Todd (what a shit film that was).

    I thought Skyfall was poor too. Really didn't understand all the fuss. Easily better than the car crash that was QoS.

    Casino Royale is still the best Daniel Craig Bond and one of the best films in the series. I forget the director's name but he also did Goldeneye which was probably the last good Bond before CR. Michael Howard? Anyway, whoever it was should probably do all the Bonds. And no more Green Lantern films.

    How can a film from 1992 stil be the best hacker film? Shouldn't there be loads of great sort-of-realistic takes on this by now?

    Anyways.

    Great film. Third time I've seen it and I still find it tense, funny, clever and cool for all the right reasons. The cheesy ending made me nostalgic. What happened to that kind of fuzz?

    Man of the Year - 65%

    It was engaging but it wasn't sure what type of film to be. Marketed as a comedy satire, poking a large pointy stick at the American election system, but was really part thriller / drama. I enjoyed Robin Williams performance but then he was playing a comedian and his tirades, whilst politically focused, were likely unscripted. Extra points given for having Christopher Walken.

    Had to turn it off after half an hour, total mess of a film that ruins or removes any of the qualities that made the original so enjoyable. And the premise was insane

    Jesus. This film is big. Really big, and granite like. The acting is great across all boards. Daniel day lewis does it agian. Tommy lee jones as well. JGL scared me as i though heath ledger came back to life. Its one of those films, where one afternoon it will click and you will get suck into the window of history that is this film. Other times you will watch it and be lost and bored shitless. I kind of drifted in and out of each.

    I got lost a couple of times with whos whos (theres a lot of people) and i had to play catch up with what going on a couple of times, but i admire the film for being open ended. The abolishment of slavery is secondary to lot of different factors and that really fascinated me. The motivations behind each person, idea, dialouge etc was really engrossing.

    In away looking forward to seeing it again to just sort of rewatch it and take more of it in, but at the same i could be bored by it.

    I'm not surprised about the low ratings. People don't appreciate movies who show people behaving differently than the norm today. Glad for them that amnesia is the new thing. Again. And again. And again. Otherwise they'd feel even strange about things happening 10 years ago.

    Among the better historical monumental movies.

    Argo - 8/10. Very tense thriller. I deliberately avoided knowing the history before watching the film, but was disappointed that in reality apparently the UK and NZ embassy didn't simply "turn away" the embassy workers, but actually the UK sheltered them for a while until it was decided that the Canadian embassy was a safer place, and the NZ group helped their transport. Rather a silly thing to leave out of the film.

    Otherwise, good acting, casting and directing. Solid.

    Life of Pi - 8/10. Visually astounding, but unfortunately I bore quickly of visual artistry and so the film dragged just a touch for me. I found the imagery interesting and it is clever how I think the central message will be different depending on what beliefs you bring to the film, but I realised that I found discussing this with someone afterwards was possibly more entertaining than witnessing it first hand.

    I've turned off all the avatars and crap, so don't expect me to be impressed by yours.

    What? That third tit is one of the few good things about it. Breath in the great cyber-punk atmosphere and the moment his wife turns into girlpower killer-robot mode turn the movie off. A well spent 30 minutes.
