Registered 8 years agoIt was silly, because basically they need a narrative device to allow Deb to understand Dexter, or at least to prove Dexter right. You didn't even need to have Speltzer dodging jail. It would have shown the justice system acting, but only after Speltzer has killed another girl.
This season is enjoyable to watch, but it's not clever in any way.

Registered 5 years agoI've no idea where they're going with the Batista is burnt out and WANTS TO OPEN A RESTAURANT angle. It seems to serve literally no purpose, other than a potential way to get rid of the character. I suppose they could do a the BHB case officially reopens and refires his passion! thing and have him fired up and investigating Dexter, but that seems kinda lame.
But if he retires then that automatically means he'll be killed on his last dayGHOSTBUSTERS

I wish they had the balls to let Dexter kill her. A nice unexpected "shock" like that is what this season need. Now it's going to be predictable and full of cringe inducing serial killer sex scenes. -

Registered 2 years agoThey could have had him on the run and the son being part of the torment that he had to deal with along with his killin'. It's not the worst written thing on TV by a long shot but they could have been a lot braver and ambitious instead of turning it into season long procedurals.

I liked the latest one. Which is not to say that it completely lives up to the hopes I had at the start of the season, but I'd class it as a hit rather than a miss. And even if there are a couple of dud episodes, so far this season has been miles ahead of anything since season 4.
Seems like some in here have pretty much loathed the last few episodes though. I'd bail if I were them. I mean, really, if you're not getting any enjoyment from something, why bother?
Not having a go or anything, of course. But, personally, if a show isn't grabbing me in any way, I would need to be seriously invested in it to keep watching. There's an absolute wealth of quality television around these days. My TV watching life is too short to watch something I'm probably going to hate.
